Just left NYC midtown and got on the ferry, snowing hard, big flakes, and wind is strong out of ten NE. Probably 3 or 4 inches already where it wasnot shoveled

Let's not forget the significant under performance of this past weekend storm. A dusting to 2 inches was predicted for Wayne by the TV Professionals and NJ Strong and a few other sites were on the ball. We got 7 inches. EPWA and NJ Strong have earned my trust

Light snow here in Hillsdale,NJ 20* with 2.5" on the ground of white gold
Scott, in answer to Nemo it had a jackpot zone of northern bergen county into southern ct of 30-40 inches it was off by about 20 miles from me here but nailed sct and i blieve one of our members recorded being in the jackpot zone. yes it had parts of Mass at 50-60" and the recorded 4' so it gets overdone in QPF but nailed the track as you said

My husband got in at 2pm on the ferry at belford..roads were starting to get slick(I picked him up)..he said ride over was good except a bit rough under verrazano...which is must be rough for him to say that because it is always rough under that bridge...safe travels home!!

Re: BLIZZARD JAN 26TH-27TH: OFFICIAL OBSERVATION THREAD
I just watched The Weather Channel. A live update. They have NYC area 8 to 12 thru tomorrow. Here's the problem with that...It's 430 in the afternoon and the main storm doesn't start for another 3 hours supposedly and we're working on inch number 4 out by me and over 3 by my parents in Floral Park (nassau/queens border) also. With dropping temperatures and higher ratios incoming we would have to only get another 4 to 8 inches for TWC to be right. Where's the common sense, or am I just crazy.

Re: BLIZZARD JAN 26TH-27TH: OFFICIAL OBSERVATION THREAD
Reading other places so many people threw out the NAM before it even finished..they didnt even look that it took the correct path needed and the tilt into consideration the HI-RES also agreed..
Syo TWC is actually being careless and stupid for doing this. They want everyone off the streets many people will not think 8-12 is not bad and think it will just keep going under according to them. they are fools

ha I was thinking the same thing, its only going to snow 4 -7 more inches then. They clearly aren't monitoring in real time, but they are a national outlet so they are slow to focus so locally I guess.

Haha WXRISK asked Nick Gregory what he thought of TWC calling 8-12" he responded they've been behind the eightball all weekend with this storm

rb, does that mean the westward tick the NAM and you mentioned before is on the table?
Just my opinion, but absolutely. I have been looking at a lot of things, I truly believe that this is going to come further west than most (if not all) guidance suggests.

If we are really only getting 11" here in West Milford that is neither historic or unusual. We get this much snow here regularly...

The bands currently look like they're missing the HV, hope this isn't a bad sign.

Weather channel totals are usually written as additional snowfall so 8-12 would be on top of what is already there.
