No games being played. if you are found on the road in a car it will be considered a criminal offense against the state.

The NAM and GFS are 100 miles apart in the positioning of the surface low and we are under 12 hours. Never seen this much disagreement so close to a storm

I second Pete's claim. Been some pretty intense banding and high winds in bloomfield for over an hour.

rb, does that mean the westward tick the NAM and you mentioned before is on the table?
Just my opinion, but absolutely. I have been looking at a lot of things, I truly believe that this is going to come further west than most (if not all) guidance suggests.
Rb I here ya you and it will over perform tonight as well in QPF and strength as modeled - can't wait to get up and not see my car - see a mound. NAM is going to nail this in terms of track cut the qpf by 20% and I think we are good IMO - could be wrong but......

Very impressive band sitting over LI/NYC/North-Central NJ possibly due to 850mb lift

weather channel mentioning models for city vary from 2 to 4 to 18 inch plus. already eliminating lower models since those amounts have been achieved

I'm starting to feel like I'm just too far west to get the big snow. I'm not used to this. NWNJ is usually the winner when it snows.. I'm feeling like I just lost my dog.

syosnow94 wrote:I just watched The Weather Channel. A live update. They have NYC area 8 to 12 thru tomorrow. Here's the problem with that...It's 430 in the afternoon and the main storm doesn't start for another 3 hours supposedly and we're working on inch number 4 out by me and over 3 by my parents in Floral Park (nassau/queens border) also. With dropping temperatures and higher ratios incoming we would have to only get another 4 to 8 inches for TWC to be right. Where's the common sense, or am I just crazy.
They are counting on the central park zookeeper to do his usual. He takes what he measures and divides by 2.

If and when the NAM verifies I will beat CP to the punch (ring a bell) HAHAHA
This may have an eye like a cyclone - my god!

I think it may even come further west than the NAM.....I can explain why if you want, but I think Frank may already be on it. Let me know, though.

People in NW NJ. I think you may be setting your hopes high. I 'only' have you in 6-12 inches. I would not expect more than that. There is a sharp cut-off expected
