Yes, especially in this time frame under 24 hours. Heck, we're under 8 hours now

I do not buy into the QPF amounts of the NAM. But how about its location and where it stalled? That's also key and possible still.

Look at the East Coast Water Vapor loop. See the Comma Head starting to develop? The dense water vapor is moving NW

What does that mean?

Which character said that in animal house? "My advice, drink heavily", Belushi?

Thanks, Dad, we need that advice for tonight.
18 degrees, light snow, must be an inch or two, blowing all around, wind picking up, barometer falling and trying to hold off first wine for 6PM. That is all.

Re: BLIZZARD JAN 26TH-27TH: OFFICIAL OBSERVATION THREAD
Let us not forget that the NAM during NEMO was touting huge precip amts. I think I remember a run under 24hrs that had an area in Mass. at like 60 something inches of snow. It was off on the exact location and was overdone on precip amts, but it was dead on in the fact that there was a huge swath of huge precip amts. (I think the max was like 39" in Ct) The actual swath was further west than what it showed for that particular storm. Remember guys there is no one model that is showing the exact outcome. If the soln was a cauldron of all the models, there would def be a heavy amt of Euro, with slightly less of the most recent NAM runs, with a dash of the GFS and CMC.
I actually really like my map still. The yellow dashed area may have to shift 50 miles to the west but I m not ready to call it. This systemis only just beginning to get going folks. It is going to be a sight later this eve. Look at the last few frames. Look at all the convection start to shift to the NW

News outlet futurecast radars are the worst prognosticators around. I wouldn't take those runs seriously with this storm. Listen to what our pros from this forum are saying.

Left 1WTC and made it home to Franklin Square around 30 minutes ago. Bus ride down Hillside Ave and Hempstead Tpke. took 1 hour 20 minutes, usually it's a 40 minute ride max. Lots of traffic from people leaving work early, very, very slow going. I'd say 3-4 inches here already in southwest Nassau. This is gonna be some night; I'm praying to the power Gods for sure.

The future cast is the RAP models depiction of the system. Nothing more nothing less. If you believe it then NYC wouldn't be happy. Word of advise....Don't believe it.
