Enjoy CP!!!
I've seen those movies a gazillion times each and never get tired of them. But Braveheart has a special meaning to me .
Can you guess why ? Of course, because I'm Scottish. Wooooo Hooooo !
Another good one is Shawshank Redemption. GREAT movie. One of the best prison movies ever made.
A great western is Tombstone with Kurt Russell.

OK, SNOW MAN the Bruce!
Seen Shawshank at least a dozen times ("Redemption lies within...")
Kurt Russell did the best Elvis ever in his 1979 movie.
Just wondering weatherwise if there might be snowshowers with this cold front coming through.Big gradient in temps!

I was wondering the same thing. It's hard to believe that there will be no percipation with it as it passes through.

Great Movie Shawshank. Since I was a teenager I've read at least a dozen Stephen King books and when I saw Shawshank the first time I didn't even realize he wrote it. Very different for him.
Loved Braveheart and Tombstone. Not ahead of Gladiator though, in my hall of fame.
Gotta go, it's time for the battle of Carthage.

Looks like a lot of places go sub zero again tomorrow night.
At this point why not just just go for one of the top 5 coldest Februarys ever? There's only 6 more days in the month after today, and we have a good shot at it.

Not refreshing, if every second outside shuddering from skin freezing is refreshing then you can enjoy that...

Re: Wx Banter Thread 1.0
Boston's seasonal snow total is now at 99.9."
Imagine if the snow ended abruptly for the season for them. I'm sure snow weenies there would love for them to crack 100" along with the 1995-96 record of 107.6"
I mean, after February 18th last year, NYC had only 0.3" of snow despite the brutal cold. And CPcantmeasuresnow's snowfall measurement stood at 69.9" throughout late February and March, and then after a warm stretch in April, a cold front gave him the snow to put him above 70."

CP I am sorry to hear you broke your foot today. Hopefully you will have a speedy and healthy recovery. Keep the faith and watch the movies that you love to help pass the time. Take care and keep your foot hanging out your bedroom window which will help keep the swelling down with the arctic outbreak this week.
Folks I would love a Frickin godzilla to end this winter. I really thought we would get one if not two but the progressive flow and lack of true blocking on the Atlantic side as well as a transient AO just did not get it done for us. Liking for a Miller a before the pattern breaks. I agree sad to see winter coming to an end Jesus the sun was bright and strong today like mid to late October.

Re: Wx Banter Thread 1.0
it is really amazing that the nao has been pos. since nov. 16 except for one brief period in late dec. the ao has also been mostly pos with a few dips neg. -epo/+pna driven last two winters. we did very well with this set up. i'm wondering if we had the atlantic blocking would we have fared as well? prob. not. well maybe if the atlantic was more neutral we could be like boston this year but if ao/nao ended up as forecast in October we prob. would have gotten less snow.
