Hi there. You're up late. Sorry to say I'm old enough to remember this storm. Was living and working in the city. Practically everything shut down. Roads weren't plowed for days. It was a mess. I could have walked to work but we were closed for at least 2 days if I remember correctly. Thanks for the memory.

keliza52, God Bless you for answering. Many times I feel very alone here being probably one of the oldest one amongst all these youngsters.Yeah, up late, the bane of getting old, terrible sleeping habits, lol!
Anyway, the Lindsay storm was around 20 inches and the lack of plowing service did cause that mess. You were right there living in the City.Be well, friend!!!

They need more front end loaders with dump trucks. The plows are getting stuck, crashing into cars.

This all happened to us after Nemo. We got stuck in our neighborhood for 3days. Needed a pay loader to come in and clear it out. Our entire neighborhood used my road as a sledding hill. It was great!

Doc, my Sister in Ocean Grove NJ on Boxing Day Blizzard had 36 inches.Totally stranded 3 days until front end loaders came in.She's a bigger Snow Weenie than me so she had a blast.Think she got 20 to 25 on this one.
Must have been fun, Doc, sledding down that hill! Would love to do that.Wonder if I could attach a La Z Boy chair to a sled and go down,LOL!
Have a good day and your work on this storm was AAA Plus!!!!!!

I am in yonkers and can contest to this, our street has yet to be properly plowed, its almost like they are putting plow down only halfway so they can come back and get overtime. I see no other reason why its not plowed since they have been through. Bronx was not too bad but forget about street parking, I am dreading tonight, trying to find a spot in my neighborhood especially since all roads are down to 1 lane so even if I wanted to get out and shovel a spot I can't because I would be blocking any cars.

Yeah dont make the mistake of moving your car unless you have a secured spot to return to. Ppl are parking in rite aid or cvs parking lots but I dont know how long they will put up with that.
They brought a front loader this morning to the street here then it was manageable for a plow to finish the job

Yeah I moved from Yonkers about 25+ yrs ago, Dad was there until he passed last year (55 years in the same house) we had a LONG driveway and I still cleared the snow for him every storm since I was a kid, but when I rented up by Sacred Heart HS for a few years, I hated trying to find parking! Was a nightmare after every big snow! Definitely don't miss that Jman
