Going into today this February is till 2.2 degrees above normal.

The good new is after todays -1 low and high in the teens is factored in February should be near normal maybe 1/10 of a degree or two above.

The bad new is after the torch hits again Tuesday we're back to above normal for the month.

Averaging in this frigid weekend this is now up to this point "only" the second warmest meteorological winter in history, dropping below the nightmare winter of 2001/02. The tally is 41.5 in 2001/02 vs. 41.1 through today for our current winter/extended fall. Of course this winter is ridiculously high mostly because of the record shattering warmest December ever which started this winter off to a horrible start.

Even if it does end up the warmest ever it still blows away 2001/02. That was a cold and snow lovers nightmare.

The only consolation is that NWS still has a 3 to 6 front end for us CP.At least we may get a chance to add to our meager totals for this year.We are 1/4 of last years maybe we can get to 1/3 before the season ends,LOL!

Even with 3 to 6 on top of my meager, spotty snowpack, it will all be gone by Wednesday.
