Heard that b4, and we are still not in gr8 range of the NAM.rb924119 wrote:H5 is. I haven't been paying attention to the surface. I have a feeling models may try to chase the convection early on, hence the east shift on this run. Idk, just a hunch.

H5 shows the center of the storm gest east then makes the turn west NW towards the coast at hr 45 but does so by the Delmarva

Honestly, as absolutely fascinating as Sandy was, my family was in ground-zero and it's not something that any of us want to go through again, let alone four years later.

Re: Hurricane Hermine Discussion Part 2
The NAM's windfield may be problematic for interior sections, but holy mama it went east. Not as strong either (with respect to the central pressure). Interesting.

Wow, even though it is east of other guidance check out these winds for the shores.

Re: Hurricane Hermine Discussion Part 2
A later H5 interaction allowed it to remain in the southwesterly steering flow longer before being captured. Let's see if that's a trend tonight. I'm hoping.

Yeah strong winds still expand well inland, and rain bands rotate in from MA.rb924119 wrote:The NAM's windfield may be problematic for interior sections, but holy mama it went east. Not as strong either (with respect to the central pressure). Interesting.

But look at the direction-North, even North-northwest versus east-northeast. HUGE difference for surge and coastal flooding concerns.
