Radar doesn't look too good north of CNJ. Back down to light snow here, still have only a coating on the ground. Not sure if I'll even make it to uptons predicted 2"-4".

Temp. dropped to 19 here in Syosset. Mod to maybe heave last 1/2 hour. winds picking up and snow drifting already. Area-wide (other than N/W folks SECS!! Good event. Approaching 2" If we keep up at these rates through 5 p.m. will be near 5-6" by then.
I'm on my 1 beer per inch plan.
Wood Burning stove ripping since 10:00 pm last night. House 73 degrees. Great day incoming. Making home made chicken soup and Sunday sauce on a Saturday.

Been stead light to moderate snow, of course that NWS blue circle for 1 inch plus bands is on the cusp of me literally the line is over my apartment, still thinking we should see a WSW city and southern westchester, I bet we see 6 or close. Al havent heard from you in a bit. Its really that much worse at jfk which is literally only 15-20 miles maybe from here.
My advisroy sauys 4-6, so what is criteria for WSW, has be 6+? Frank what are chances we see 6 inches or more here in and around city say 10-15 miles N/W. maybe less

Snowing moderately here now and it seems that the winds are picking up a bit. Still not a lot of snow on the ground.

LI and CT are get hammered per radar, the 20 dbz bands are just skirting the city and boarder of southern westchester. Hoping we can get into some of that heavier banding just need a bit more tug N.

Re: January 7, 2017 Storm Observations
Just drove down to Philly for a Flyers-Tampa game. Snowing pretty good here in South Philly, and the trip down I-295 was no treat. I just saw they upped the forecast for my town (Somerville) from 1 or 2" to 2-4" and issued a WWA. Looking at the radar I can see why.

you can see it clearer here north of nyc when the higher returns moved in they disipated. is that that subsidence talked about, what is drying up that area?
