A perfect day today finally feeling like June now we bake .it's crazy we went to fall weather to summer weather

Dr Cohen saying the Aleutian Low Retrograde will open the door for a trough to set up near the Great Lakes and NE for the latter part of June, looks like a roller coaster of temps to me incoming if this holds true

Fair to say, summer is here. Was very warm today and only getting hotter the next three days. I'm staring at the "on" button on my AC. About to pull the trigger.

We didn't use the AC last time we hit 90°, but going to use it this week. I don't mind the heat, it's the humidity.

BDCF = back door cold front wed = relief and back to cooler temps like 70 and upper 60's wed through friday

if you like the heat definitely the next few days are for you.

Officially Day 1 of possible heat wave, hit 91° here.

Car said 97 around 5pm, knock off about 5 degrees as car makes it hotter than it actually is usually. Still too hot for my liking, I prefer high 70's to mid 80s.

Question, looking at the models from the early morning on Sat through Sun and even into monday this coming weekend it appears on GFS it may be a washout? Or at least a steady light rain? I have outdoor plans and if this is the case want to make alternative indoor plans ahead of time.

It better not rain on Sunday. I have a bbq to attend. My bbq was canceled due to the rain on Memorial day.

I am going to Washington DC this weekend. It looks like there could be scattered showers/storms, but for the most part dry. Will remain on the warm side. Temps in the 80s.

Fair to say Summer has arrived.

Day 2 of probable heat wave, hit 92.1° today. Thankfully humidity has been hovering near 50% keeping it bearable.

I watched car thermometer go from 95 in white plains to 102 in the Bx.
Real thermometer 99.4 at home wow.
Its 100 at LGA !

94.4° was my high today, official heat wave.

Big storms rolled through Hopewell jct hail and lots of cloud to ground lightning!

today and yesterday it was nasty esp where i am working at .i am working at the new lag airport extension .i must had to change my shirt 3 times put cool wet rag inside of my hardhat to keep my head cool my point is i am glad tom and the rest of the week we will have cooler temps .how much more till fall and winter i hate the heat

All those strong storms in NWNJ dissipated before it got here.

Nothing unexpected thus far. We have an ephemeral pulse of heat circa Father's day, followed by a cool down, another warm pulse around the 23rd, and then subsequently a very significant pool of cold envelops Canada through the end of June. Ecmwf ensembles are quite impressive with much of the NA continent near or cooler than normal for the last week of June. I think it will be warmer in the South, but the AK ridging will force the suppression of the mean jet.

Could be an active convective pattern for us with the steep latitudinal height gradient.

No protracted heat through Jul 1 looks good. I thought July would be the warmest month, so we will see how the pattern evolves. Should see lower heights retrograde off the west coast eventually.

Jman I think tomorrow we all going to see to strong to severe thunderstorms especially late afternoon into the evening hours it's very humid and if we have full day sunshine tomorrow oh boy

Every time the SPC puts out an alert for this area, it doesn't come to fruition in NENJ. Severity usually lessens as it heads east, so I'm not getting excited over it until I see what it looks like tomorrow. I have been disappointed too many times!

The storms this evening could be severe. Heavy rain, high wind, perhaps even some hail. I think timing is mainly after 8pm, but there's a chance strong storms could erupt in the mid to late afternoon hours today too.
