latest hrrr not impressive on winds most see 40mph gusts or under, might be mega bust on the winds. Kudos to frank yet again, yes sroc is get wind but from get go eastern LI was the only spot anyways, even CT my friends are report little wind.

At 847 PM EDT, radar indicated an area of intense winds aloft
overspreading the region, which are likely to begin mixing down to
the surface as 55 to 65 mph gusts through 11 pm. An isolated gust to
75 mph is possible.

This magnitude of wind can blow down many trees and power lines,
causing widespread power outagess. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles.

lol, just pathetic and the banding is pretty much north now, i dunno if anything will really happen or not. I just saw some flashes to the NW of me, but didnt look like lightning, looked more like a transformer as it came from ground, but thetres just no wind?

Last 15 minutes as the heaviest rain lightened up and the dry slot is approaching I’ve had several gusts up near 40.

I have 2.86" in teh bucket with meh wind so far.

overspreading the region, which are likely to begin mixing down to
the surface as 50 to 60 mph gusts through 11 pm.

This magnitude of wind can blow down several trees and cause power
outages. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile
vehicles.

So 1 hr and 20 min of possibly damaging winds in a 12 hr HWW? That makes no sense, its a little gustier than before but still not much.

The closest weatherbug station to where I am is at H. Frank Carey High School in Franklin Square, NY. The pressure there is down to 984 mb!

Lights have flickered but power still on. But it is ripping out here. Rain and winds. At about 3.5” and counting. Rain gauge says rates are currently fluctuating between 1-1.75” per hour There are going to be trees down.

Just had a gust over 50 EASY. First real scary one. House shook. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was 60. Next town over no power.  In the dry slot.  Rain done. 2:56”

Quiet here, prolly go bed soon, seems all the goods are east, can't say I am surprised, it was a fine line from CT border west.
