Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
Big hole opening up over SE CT and LI sound headed in the LI NYC direction, it appears the precip is starting to wither out quite a bit all over. Which way is the storm moving now? Looks SW, maybe when it starts east we all see a decent back end snow, who knows.

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
Yeah I mentioned that earlier, it stinks, cuz it seems all areas only about 10 miles around me are snowing even NYC, talk about a kick to the beans. I guess I have to accept it, no other choice right hehsroc4 wrote:jmanley32 wrote:Wow, and here its not doing anything as I stated. Unreal. And very disappointing. I could have seen 6 plus by now had the precip not been evaporating for what reason I do not know in such a small area.Vinnydula wrote:jmanley32 wrote:Serious? The wind just picked up as a 2 second squall hit then back to nothing maybe a bit of flakes and rain.Vinnydula wrote:Snowing 3 streets over with 2in. Me rain. I can't make this up
I just can't believe it. All rain here. Dobbs on Palisade Street. Not even a half mile away near the saw mill it's snowing
Jon your likely in an area of subsidence. Dont know why.

No snow here either, not like they were showing in Manhattan anyway. Some burst of snow mix as usual.

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
So it had slowed down a bit here in Hopatcong but about 30 min ago it cranked up again big time. We are currently seeing some of the highest wind gusts of the day. And the snow is piling up still...very heavy.

All rain. Only snow that comes down is from the wind pushing it down

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
Still windy here, but dare I say, it does seem to have calmed a bit from what it was between 1 and 6 p.m. An occasional big gust, but not the persistent gusts that had me fearing for the structural integrity of my house.

Don’t forget to help RB out with the snow totals. I know this is a sore subject for many but some people on this board did get some snow.

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
Hands down, worst winds since Sandy here... 3" of snow which quickly piled up this morning only transformed to 4" of slush after a whole day of varying snowfall rates- precip as others have said was disappointing and not a match to what radar was showing. Looks like i'll be running on generator power at least through tomorrow, if not longer. Tons of trees down, pulling wires down as well...crazy day!

that's what my husband just said...we had a couple of gusts close to 50 mph.......during Sandy our sustained winds were more than 60 and highest was 83 at the worst part of the storm..today we had sustained winds for a while in the 30's...hope all turns out tonight for you and your house!

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
What Joanne said about winds is what I saw here. Right now it is calmer than today. We got sleet, then a dusting but it all melted from the rain. Power stayed on. Really nothing here except wind and rain. It tried flurrying but it never stuck.

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
I agree, worst winds since Sandy. Most tree damage since then (on a widespread level)
