Re: March Madness! Spring Snowstorm Observations Part II
Woke up to a total of 8 inches for this storm, but it's still coming down lightly. Current temp 33 and going up to 46, so it's going to start to melt before the sun comes up.
Luckily, temps will be in the 40's and into the 50's by Easter weekend so I just might be able to get a car out and go grocery shopping on Good Friday. I don't dare dig it out and move it before then because I'll never get a parking space on this block - can't get one in *good* weather!

When I was at 0.0 inches at 8 PM last night I would have given 100-1 odds that we would not get 5 inches of snow from this storm, Very curious what the final total will be for everyone.
I was right in your camp last night, CP.We got lucky that a heavy band set up far enough N and W to give us some love. Can't wait to see when the sun rises , the first day of Spring out there,LOL.It will look more like Jan 21! An epic March! Working on my winter grade and thinking snow will definitely be a "B" for up here.If and when we ever hit 100 inches, double our normal, I'll give out an "A",LOL.Temps I'm thinking C+ because of that God awful warm February which now seems just a memory.Hoping for one more to get us to 80 inches up here.

Re: March Madness! Spring Snowstorm Observations Part II
Just woken up by 2 he delay text. Looked outside utterly sad looks compacted to maybe 5 inches or so so I guess my measurement of 7 last night was it. Am I the lowest report of the entire area even al saw 2 more inches and he us just a few miles from me. Soul saw 3.5 higher and is pretty close too. I'm start believe this is an evil game. I consider this a huge bust as it's nowhere near what was predicted. Everyone else seems to have 10 to well over a foot which fits Frank's map. Congrats all

Re: March Madness! Spring Snowstorm Observations Part II
There is nothing to say but pure awesomeness for this storm. What a trip to watch this unfold and see all the varying snow intensities and banding. I was caught in the dry sliver thru most of the storm but managed 6 in. I guess the biggest surprise was how slow the storm ended up being which allowed for all that intense banding to persist and give many areas 12+ in. Also the upper systems seemed to hug the coast a bit more which I think the NAM was indicating and not the Euro.

Just over the NWS wire...Monroe NY 7 inches as per trained spotter! I'm less than an inch away from 80 inches for the season! 16 inches OTG ATM.

I went to sleep thinking maybe the JS was the new spot to be for the big snows this year. Then I woke up and saw this. Now I'm like nope, it's still LI. It will always be LI.

Wound up with 3 inches in Hyde Park and have 57 for the season. I didn't see first flakes until after 8pm so not too bad.

That's nuts. We have 3 inches and schools have a 2 hour delay. Schools have been closed 7 days this winter for snow up here.
