there was a tornado warning issued for rockland and westchester county has exp at 4 45 pm.i just hope everyone who lives around that area is ok

Well that was some unGodly rain around 5 pm. I had the misfortune of being down near Woodbury Commons on my way to West Point. I thought I might not make it. The overpasses were not visible. That is how low the rain clouds seemed. The car sounded like a tin can being ripped open until the tat tat sound stopped. There was so much water falling, the rain was thick enough on the car to stop that sound. Long Mountain had a waterfall coming down the mountain as I was hydroplaning up the mountain. Maybe this was the all-time rain storm in intensity for me. And it was in the middle of all that construction. Just unbelievable rain. Just a tick away from life-threatening.

There were 2 confirmed tornadoes in northern westchester NY too. The rain was crazy north of me got 4+ in a matter of a hour or two flooding the heck out of the saw mill river in fact the highway was closed northbound for a nearly 20 mile span, dunno if its reopened, its still all wet on south side and river is just short of the side of the parkway in areas.

I have to say, I am disappointed in the accuracy of the weather reporting for accuweather and weather.com. About Tuesday, I checked the weather and it said that this past week was supposed to be sunny and nice the entire week with fluctuating temps from 60s to 70s. Well the temps were accurate but we have had mostly cloudy skies with rain on several days. Even Friday night said no rain for this weekend and it has been raining non stop. How do these people have jobs? Can someone on here tell me what today is supposed to turn out. Having a party and wondering if people will be able to sit outside.

Looks like you should be ok for the most part, but with dew points creeping up as the day progresses and a weak cold front approaching from the north as the day progresses the chance of a pop up shower increases as you head into the late afternoon and evening as it wont take much of a trigger to rain (ie: upsloping from foothills/weak s/w passing overhead).

Totally agree wanted to sit on the deck with cup of tea and so sticky out and warm..sad currently 77 degrees and 79 percent humidity
