20* and Clear. With cold temps tonight and cloud cover tomorrow I could see daytime temps not warming as much as forecast. That might get an early jump in any (limited) accumulation late tomorrow afternoon/evening.

I was thinking the same thing. It's currently 18.9° and falling.

Very powdery snow. Light for a change. The snow is falling softly, and it is great to have the family home. We've seen deer, a fisher cat, and a couple of cats around the bird feeders. It really is peaceful. And yes, I too have my list.

Re: January 2019 Observations and Discussions
It snowed all day at work in Pequannock, but never amounted to more than a coating.
I came home (Parsippany) an hour ago to find 0.8 inch. It had been snowing pretty steadily until just a few minutes ago. I think I’m right on the rain/snow line right now.

16 degrees and a winter wonderland outside, trees look amazing, with the new 2.6 inches of snow here.Calm now, but supposed to be blowing snow all over the place soon.At least I'll have a few days of snowplack.NWS says torch coming Monday and Tuesday, rain and near 50 both days.Rotten start to February if that comes to fruition and just keeps the mild/rainy and cold/dry pattern going.

The squall later today could be interesting.
The cold later today and tonight looks brutal. Quite dangerous.

Re: January 2019 Observations and Discussions
11 degrees was the low this morning. With the snow last night I’m running 25% deficit for season. Extremely misleading though considering the few times it has snowed or had snow on the ground. At this point the only real shot at average snowfall is big ticket event(s). If there’s a month that can occur it’s February.

And the winner is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow a mere 20 miles is the difference between my 2.6 inches of snow and 10 inches by Damian. Life can be very unfair.

Here is the squall line and western PA just had intense white out/blizzard like conditions this morning dropping 1-1.5" out there. With temps at 7*

Re: January 2019 Observations and Discussions
Squall line just passed through State College PA area with heavy snow and strong wind gusts. Interesting to see if it holds together until it gets here around 2 pm. Kind of a tease though, will only last about 20 minutes.

Re: January 2019 Observations and Discussions
Quick question. What is the likelihood that the squall line makes it all the way to eastern NJ?
