Look at the wide spectrum within the group. We've got mom reporting a temp of 51 with about 2 inches of rain. Meanwhile aresian at 12 degrees with about a foot of snow. I know we all want snow, but that's pretty remarkable coverage for the forum area. It does make for interesting storm coverage, disappointing or not.
Meanwhile didn't see a flake of snow here in midtown Manhattan while Jman and dtone saw some snow in the Bronx and just outside nyc in Westchester. No man's land set up shop right over NYC for this one.

35 degrees. Cold is pouring in now just as the last batch of moisture has left my region. This storm epitomizes how this winter has gone.

I saw on abc 7 some video of mod to heavy snow at the top of the empire state building, but (mostly) rain on the street. It was cool to see and hurt at the same time, so close yet so far.

That is an example of a mini- climate, 1000 feet up very different than the street.Very interesting observation!

It had gone up to 42 around 11am, but now at 12:30pm it's down to 39.
Total rain was 1.52 inches with no snow at all.

I underestimated how much I got. I remeasured when I went out to shovel and scrape ice off the cars and came up with 5.5 which is what Poughkeepsie reported as well. Right now 22 with some very light snow.

The temp is now 32 with wind chill feel of 20. The wind is whipping up and is 22 mph from the North. My house is getting chilly. Time to amp up the heat.

Mom, it's now down to 27 and feels like 14. Winds are at 21. I'm following your lead and closing any blinds and drapes. Temps are dropping like a rock
