The relentless pattern since November continues to produce snow for the Central, North Central and Northern New England areas while we remained cold and dry with the big storms suppressed or cutting west.Happy to have gotten close to 40 inches this season .Let's hope for a better 2019-2020.

7.75 inches the whole winter and that is including the snow we had in NOVEMBER...so if that does not count in total we only had 4.75 inches the whole season..pitiful!! ON TO THE NEXT

Seriously, hope all goes well with your husband's travel plan, but you hit the nail on the head with those spring storms.Just saw Lee Goldberg post the temperature gradients out there, from the 30's to the 80's!

Chillier than I expected today. 46* at 2 pm. Thought we’d be in low 50s but not sure we’ll hit 50.

It seems to have warmed up a bit. At 2 am it is 40 degrees yet I still cling to my wood stove. Help me, somebody. Direct me to a weaning off program for my wood stove.

Re: April 2019 observation and discussio
The high humidity and dew points around here are the perfect setup ahead of this front for some really powerful storms overnight. Dew points all day were in the 60s with humidity above 75 percent. Already tornado activity across the Ohio Valley, Western PA and Virginia. Short-term models show a very powerful line coming through between 3 and 7 a.m. While tornados are rare around here, I think we could get some really powerful T'Storms in the pre-dawn hours.
Probably a preliminary, weaker line between 9-11 p.m., followed by a stronger more severe line between 3 and 7 a.m.

Yep. After a boring winter, Spring T’Storms are at least something significant to track. That second line from western NY to the TN Valley could pack a punch if it holds together and short range models don’t show it breaking up.

Re: April 2019 observation and discussio
The long range thread is closed until next year. All discussions pertaining to anything weather related, be it short, medium or long term, will take place in the monthly discussion threads.
Unsettled weather is expected over the next 10 days. There will be a couple of nice days mixed in - like Tuesday - but overall cloudy with a chance for rain. What particularly has my attention is Easter weekend.
That closed upper level vort in the southwest U.S. is a key player. If the PAC energy associated with this vort is as strong as models indicate, it will bring a crawling low pressure system to our area this upcoming weekend. Some models are showing severe weather Saturday too. That's one way to ruin a holiday.
Mainly 60's this week. I took some time off to get myself over this abysmal winter. I think...*think*..I'm over it. Now I can look at models again.

Wind is already howling out ahead of this line here. This may do some damage in places. 70* with a dewpoint of 66* at 3 am ahead of a strong frontal boundary. Tailor-made severe weather conditions.
