July 2019 observations and discussion

Warm today but not too humid. Could have a streak of 90* days starting tomorrow. Appropriate 4th of July week weather.

Looks like a few days of those "popcorn" Thunderstorms ahead. Worst kind to try to schedule around because you don't know exactly when or where they will "pop" up in the daytime heating. A bunch around central PA and central NY right now.

Wow! Sundays storm was so bad in Long Island! I was on 95 midday when it hit there the winds were going pretty good but not like in LI, the rain was crazy and it was so sporadic, sun then hell then sun then hell.  I was driving back today and lots trees down on side of highway and looks like one had been blocking southbound 95 entirely at one point by the side of the cut up wood and debris still on highway both sides. That was def not expected.

I will say the winds had to be 60mph at least but also the deluge of rain we had could easily aided in uproot all those trees, notice none were snapped suggesting a very loose ground.

Just hot..enjoying summer but missing winter...

Not a day of 90° temperatures for the next 7 according to my point-and-click forecast. Only had one 90 degree day so far this season. Very rare in this warming global climate. the weather has been remarkable very few hi dew Point days.

Al I dunno my car has sead 90's a few times, though I dunno how accurate that is and there have been a number of days where it was putridly humid however on the whole yes less days than usual for almost the 2nd week of July. Also very quiet tropics, though there is one area that may develop once it moves into the gulf, I know how much u like tracking the tropics LOL. Hope your summer is going well. Mine has been rough so far with a major health issue myself I had to have a surgical procedure on my birthday and now my wife is out of work so that is our next troubling matter. Other than that the last 2 weeks I have been off has been nice. Back to the grind tomorrow.

Oh and happy belated 4th everyone! As you can see I have not been on much, not so much cuz theres nothing to talk about but because things hve just gotten way more important than weather. So if you do not see me on that is why.

Sunny and hot here today. Should be that way for the several days. Despite a couple days just above or below the 90 degree mark we have been lucky thus far that we haven't had one of those streaks where it flirts with 100. Let's hope it stays that way for the next few weeks. Otherwise, not much to report here. Keep an eye on the Gulf of Mexico for the next several days.

Had a nice round of heavy rain and thunder from about 5 p.m. until about 9 p.m. yesterday evening. Just continues to be a wet Spring/Summer around these parts. Good news is, I've had to do very little watering of my lawn and garden and we're half-way through July already. Before you know it, I'll be raking leaves and getting my snow shovels ready

High of 88 today with dew points in the upper 50s very comfortable and that seems to be the theme so far this summer. What's very interesting and intriguing is that most stations are + 3 to + 5 so far for the month halfway through. that is a very high anomaly for summer months you would think we've seen some 100 degree days so far however most days are right around 90 give or take a few with mainly low humidity except when the fronts approach. Looks to be like our first Heatwave late this week with temperatures in the nineties and dew points in the 70s although the 90-degree readings remain to be seen as there will be plenty of cloud cover and convection around. Hints of a cool down towards the end of the month. About 6 more weeks and we can start looking at enso and climate model projections for winter

So far through 14 days of July two 90 degree days at Central Park four at LaGuardia and Newark with the highest reading being 93. So far that is a pretty comfortable summer

when i heard there was a heatwave coming this week into the next week,i put it up on fb and now my friends think i'm crazy but i told them i prefer the summer than the winter cold weather especially when it gets below 32 degrees(then i'mm in da house)on this website reading what u guys post on upcoming snowstorms(godzilla's,mega etc)then i pass it on on fb

We are having our first heat wave of the year starting this Friday I am hearing some places could hit a hundred on Saturday

Looks like this weekend may take the award for hottest of the summer with temps expected to hit the mid to upper 90s Friday through Sunday. With humidity, heat indexes will top 100.  Looks to fall back to more normal mid to upper 80s for most of next week at least.
