Didn't realize you were that close to me! I am near AVP, like 2-3 miles from me.
Road tripping. About 1.5 hours from my hood. Can’t make it to Towanda. Conditions too bad. Visibility 1/4 mile. SN+. Winds probably 25 gusting to 35.
Snow won’t come to me so doing the needful.
Love your attitude. Please take a pic if possible!
I'd like to see video if you can post it.
My God, what is wrong with me?
Couldn't get to Towanda. Tunkhannock had about 4" when i left and it was still snowing. Towanda on north was where the real action was my guess is that area had at least 7". I got a late start and couldn't make it there as it was a mess on roads...
On the way home Poconos was getting pasted. Meanwhile the Piedmont and Lehigh Valley was wet snow melting on contact. Old Man Winter was laughing at me!

Quick wet snow shower came and went in all of 5 minutes. 37 degrees.
It's quiet now but the sound of the wind was like a train.
Neighbors storm door ripped off its hinges.

Winds picked up at about 1 pm. I hit a high of 53* and at 3:15ish had a nice snow squall blow through. Now sun trying to peek out at 36*.

32.3/31.8 have about .25" on grass. I think a bit more should be swinging through soon.
850's and 925's are plenty cold ATTM for snow. As surface temps drop maybe i can squeak out a bit more and further whiten the ground. Very lean times.

Snow showers and some wind, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Never been big on the wind thing even during snow storms. Destruction, power loss, bare areas during powdery snows, no thanks. Give me heavy snow and calm winds and I'm good.

CP, that February 1983 snowstorm featured exactly that.I was getting 3 inch per hour rates with no wind at all. That's the storm that Mr G went nutso over on the radar. It was a steady, light snow from late morning until around 5 PM when it went into overdrive.Over 18 inches fell from 5 to 12 PM.I went outside my house and could barely see it 50 feet away,LOl.

Incredible storm Doc, the day before they were saying we would get brushed by it with 1-3 inches.

Re: February 2020 Observations and Discussion
It started snowing here at 4 pm and by 6 it was about over. I got a coating on driveway and property. Woods look nice but the side road was shut down due to several cars going off the road. I was going about 10 mph when I tried to turn onto my road but I couldn't make it. Brakes locked, and I couldn't stop. Too icy. I took the next road in. Surprisingly nothing from West Point, where I was, until just past 84. It really iced slick so fast.

Wow, CP, they blew that forecast! I can't remember that, too many circuits blown out at my age, but I think the same thing happened a few days before the Boxing Day 2010 Blizzard. They were saying 1 to 3 a few days out with a more OTS bias.

Re: February 2020 Observations and Discussion
You hit the nail on the head Doc.
21.1° and flurrying, add 0.5 inches of snow last night which now brings the seasonal to an even 20 inches.
12 inches of snow on December 2-3 and 8 inches since then in 7 separate events. What started so promising has turned into a nightmare of a winter.

CP,right now it appears our "winter" really started in late October to Dec 20th with the prolonged cold and the snow in early December. The curse of these early snowstorms!

Nice. I got close to 2 myself, counted it at 1.5. Schools had a 2 hour delay. It looked great early this morning before it changed to rain. I think we stand a good chance of getting a couple more inches Wednesday night on front end before changeover. Again the farther north you are the better the chances.

Re: February 2020 Observations and Discussion
It is melting fast. Rain here comes in 30 mins and sadly will wash most if not all away. This snow snuck in for sure. I’d be delighted to see more snow Wed night. I see what you mean:
The next winter system will bring a period of snow to the area
starting Wednesday evening. The snow likely changes to a wintry mix
late Wednesday night, then a mix of rain and higher elevation snow
showers on Thursday. Current forecasts are for 2 to 4 inches of snow
and minor coatings of ice during this time frame. Amounts could
trend higher or low depending on the exact track of the low pressure
center and how much cold, subfreezing air is in place. Travel may be
impacted across the region Wednesday evening into at least Thursday
morning. Be sure to check back for the latest forecast updates.

Re: February 2020 Observations and Discussion
Let's try to put this year into perspective regarding snowfall. Records have been kept over 130 years by NWS for their various regions.
DCA ~ .6""
PHL ~ .3"
BWI < 2"
NYC ~ 4.8"
Dulles < 3"
As it stands now these would probably be top 5 lowest in all aforementioned stations for a season. Close the blinds at least another 10 days IMO and this gets even more impressive.

My sister moved from the HV down to northern Virginia last year and was happy that the winters would be warmer and have less snow but this is ridiculous. They have a dusting all winter, lol.
