Re: February 2020 Observations and Discussion
33.8° and dreary out.
There is snow on the grass this morning from last night but no idea how much fell. I suppose I can safely say half an inch and log it in the books bringing the seasonal to 20.5 inches.

I see you have adopted central parks method of measuring snow. You have no idea how much fell, but it looks like about a half inch, so let's make that the "official" amount and log that into the books. This sir puts your whole log book under scrutiny and therefore it should be submitted to the proper authorities for analysis. In years past when the snow was abundant you may have gotten away with it, but in times like these some resort to desperate measures and "pad" their totals. Oh the horror!

Quite the opposite my friend. I'm guessing we had over an inch at some point during the night but since I only could verify a half inch this morning that's what I logged.
Case over, no witnesses allowed.

Re: February 2020 Observations and Discussion
You sir are not the judge and jury. You are the defendant. You say yourself " I'm guessing", and "I suppose". These terms garner a great deal of reasonable doubt. There is no guesswork involved in measuring. Since an actual measurement was never taken, but basically "eyeballed," this case is still wide open. How did you verify said 1/2 inch this morning? You stated yourself "I suppose I can safely say half an inch," whereas if an actual measurement was done, there would be no doubt. I urge any witnesses to come forward without fear of reprisal. I have moved further comments over to the banter section.

Wow, Damian, you are the man this winter with low temps and snow in our immediate area.Aresian and Math are leading in snow but they are in the far reaches W and N of our website territory.Anyway, it's good to get some cold back.Lee Goldberg had said February was running 9 degrees above normal each day up to this mini polar vortex.

Re: February 2020 Observations and Discussion
Bottomed our at 5.1 this morning.
This looks like it will be the first year since 2007/8 to not reach zero or below in this area. Pretty sad That this is the best we can do this year but the pattern is God awful.

I'm holding fast until March 15th CP but next week is burnt and it's looking dismal beyond that.Nice to get a short blast of cold anyway.

Ok i know this is off topic, not the right spot. But nobody really looks at the vacation weather forum. Can any of you experts please take a look and see if The Daytona 500 will be starting on time, and if the rain will hold off. All i can see is 40% chance after 4 on most weather

So I guess you are there? Jealous! I went a few years ago. It looks like they will get the race in, but there may be a stray shower during the race that may add to some delays. Some models hold the rain off til after the race, but I don't think they will have to postpone it til Monday. Go Truex Jr!

Well that was pretty awful. Guidance was just a bit off today. I guess you never know with those Florida pop-up storms. Hope you are able to stay for the race tomorrow.
