August 2020 Observations and Discussion

Friday and Saturday (mainly morning) do not look great. Overcast with showers but I think sun will return by mid to late morning on Saturday. Sunday lookin' good!!!

Wow looks like some of the gusts that happened on occasion during the tropical storm.

High today 92* real feel 103* OMG..when is this summer going to be over???

Wednesday. I see mid 70s during the day and mid 50s at night starting this weekend and next.

Good news Damian.It's been relentless for weeks in the 80's and over.

Got mine back late yesterday thank goodness. Cable and direct TV still out though for another week.

Sroc so sorry to hear that. People in my neck of the woods got power back by Sunday but cable and wifi still on the fritz.

Those Derechos in the midwest literally destroyed the farm plantings and storage silos in that vast region.

Weekend temps for mom going to be in the upper 70's nighttime lows in the upper 50's.
Wet pattern the next 10 days overall from the looks.

some of my in-laws are from the area effected..they said it was insane and they might not have power for 2 weeks..

Watching the Mt Holly radar loop right now and storm cells are moving in all different directions, forming, dissolving and reforming. It's like watching mercury, or blobs of oil on water. It's odd looking.

Sorry, geeking out on radar today. I am I correct that those light green lines moving north and west away from Phily and western NJ are outflow boundaries?

I hear there are thousands without power again in SNJ due to today's storms.

Well isnt that wonderful, they gotta be at wits end. Theres a cell just SW of my area nearly stationary Fort Lee area, I know we have someone there.

jman, I am in Fort Lee now caring for my elderly Mom.T Storm stationary here, major lightening and thunder and torrential rain.Praying power stays on, was out 3 days last week.

Lots of rumbles but no puddles to show for it

Missed out on the T’Storm action today. Just sunny, hot and humid. Per usual. Did cool off a bit after 4 pm when a breeze kicked up. Looks like MAYBE we get a break from these 90-degree days for awhile. Don’t see any in my 10-day forecast - which I’ll take.
Getting dark earlier and earlier. Some hot days ahead in late August/September I’m sure, but won’t be long before we get some of those cool crisp nights: Fall is coming.

Lots of training of rain and storms over the NYC metro region from the looks on the radar this morning. Will it spread North is the question.

Midtown Manhattan is getting slammed right now with heavy rain lots of lightning

Slowly creeping our way, but might stay just east of us!

Pouring insanely hard out, few lightning and thunder. And I needed to get out with some stuff for the post office now i gotta find a big enough bag for the boxes as this is training doesnt look like go end soon.

Lee Goldberg last night said a front was going to set up and it looks like it did.
