I was talking to Scott earlier how a few weeks ago when we had a coastal with marginal cold air we had flakes mixing in when winds went due north and sound temps were in the mid 50s. Now we have sound temps in the low 40s (around 42) and a bit better if an airmass to work with. Models have due north winds at the time of the heaviest Precip with the possible ccb band swinging through. That might be enough to thump. We will see.

Fairly close range now and the NAM is completely unimpressed with this storm. Weak and sheared out mess with absolutely no dynamics for the eastern areas. It's very different than Euro at this time for the eastern areas particularly LI and SNE.

According to that I may see 1-4 inches, is that right? I do not think it will be cold enough.

Sticking with my call of 4-6 inches for I-84 and north. 2-4 inches just S-SW of there and 1-3 inches across NW NJ. NYC Metro including NE NJ and LI up to one inch.

Snow and sleet mixture. 31.5 ground is coated including street.

850s are above freezing. 925s are below.

The Para GFS 06Z run is spot on with the setup so far.  Let's see.

You can clearly see a CAD signature.  If the track remains favorable I expect more frozen than liquid out of this.  I78 on northward.  Doesn't mean there won't be mixing there, but just not rain per se.

Wow radar is pathetic, has one small strip of snow from south to north and thats it, not even width of NJ.

That was not the storm. It was enhanced precip ahead of the main event.

Moderate sleet mixed with some flakes here on the north shore. Damn..

Snow started about an hour ago, have around 1/2 inch and light snow now.

Snow has stopped.  It’s not doing anything right now.  I got 1/2 inch on my deck.  I’ll take it!  Hoping for more later, but not optimistic with temps supposed to rise.

Still 32° though.
