March 2021 Observations and Discussions

So far March is coming in like a lamb instead of a lion and all of next week It’s pretty much the same

60° and I'm officially calling an end to the snowpack today (trumpets play, the choir sings).

Although there's still a surprising amount of snow coverage at noon today we are near or below the 50% threshold and I can't in good conscience call this a day with snow cover. For the season it's 53 days of snowpack and 43 straight days from January 27 through March 11th. I'm one of those people that doesn't want winter to end until the middle of April but it's been a decent winter so I'm okay with 60° today and melting snow/iceberg, it actually feels great. No complaints though if it snows next week.

59.4 inches for the season, I'd still like to make it to the 65-70 inch range.

It was a good run CP. When it's all said and done, February was really the only month that was winterlike, but it carried the whole winter. My condolences on your loss (of snowpack), but I would say you did well all things considered.

Chilly morning..low of 32* our highest gust over night was 28 mph currently blowing at 16

Had a brief snow shower here around 3:30 PM and now the wind has picked up and howling.

this is scary we definitely need rain it has been very dry

20 degrees, howling wind gusts near 50 MPH and NWS mentioning possible snow tomorrow night and Weds. morning.What did I tell you about a day in March in the 60's and what follows,LOL.Still have 15% snowpack left, this will be a reprieve.

16 up here, Doc and yes the winds. Out at 1:30 and 4 with the puppy, my wife said the wind was bodacious

I saw that on the news last night so crazy and still so windy down here. Is it still out of control?

currently 27* the low was 24* winds were sustained at 16 mph and we had our highest gust of 34 last night.

interesting for friday...

36* and dropping to the mid-20s. Very January-like day today. I think a lot of people on here will see some snowflakes tomorrow night. Probably won't amount to much (maybe a coating in some areas further N and W?), but a reminder that last week's warm-up was a bit too soon.

Storm Thursday into Friday still looks like a close-call for some snow as well. What isn't snow will be a miserable cold rain.

28* when I woke up to this beautiful scene this morning:

Snow showers moving through Eastern PA right now. May affect some of this area around midday.

I counted about 10 flakes falling, then it stopped.

That would be about 10 more than I saw here.

A few flakes within the last 2 hours in Hillsborough, NJ to bring back that winter feel!

Down in Fort Lee Nj and saw a few flakes.Calm winds here too.

Yeah looks like that Thursday rain could end as a period of snow by Friday A.M.
