Re: 2021 Tropical Season
Hey all, sorry your tropics man has been MIA, I just got a new job FINALLY and its very intense, I will not be able to be on the weather at all during the day except maybe my lunch. Looks like Claudette will reform as a TS overland, I swear each year these things do weirder and weirder stuff, last time I checked a tropical system needed water to strenthen. Hope everyone is well. I will pop in from time to time.

Re: 2021 Tropical Season
Looking quiet right now. Per usual we'll need to wait until end of July and August to start the tropics train. My guess is a very active Sept/Oct :/

Re: 2021 Tropical Season
This wave is already being hyped in the media. I’m not so sure I agree that it’s a conducive environment for a cat 5 hurricane. Maybe cat 1-2...

Re: 2021 Tropical Season
Interested went from minimal TS to hurricane now, looking like last yr where they were downplayed or blew up much stronger. Also taking a hook much further east over FL now, might this re-emerge and become a threat to the EC? Or will it go OTS? I imagine we wont even know whats in store for FL until she makes it over the mountanous areas.sroc4 wrote:

Been so busy did not even know she was now a minimal hurricane, looked like NHC thought she would stays a TS, whos saying cat 5? You gotta love the hype (thought it isn't good to make people panic especially FL).Frank_Wx wrote:This wave is already being hyped in the media. Re: 2021 Tropical Season
Looks possible in LR Elsa could impact the area as a weak TS or remnant by Friday or so. Long ways to go.

Hey Weathermom. There is def a chance for both direct and/or indirect effects from Elsa as we head into the end of the week and weekend. There is a trough sweeping in as Elsa head up towards the Carolina's, so timing and positioning will determine the details. Even if Elsa stays south and us as it heads OTS the cold frontal boundary will likely bring us gusty unsettled weather. Stay tuned.

Re: 2021 Tropical Season
love watch hill. Used to love the 100 yr old carousel as a kid. I think Sandy took it out though if I heard correctly. Mystic also very nice I used to work in Norwich and we frequent mohegan Sun when we want a short getaway.weatherwatchermom wrote:Sound is wicked today.. puppy threw up all over me..lol on way to mystic

Re: 2021 Tropical Season
Subtropical at that point but still unsettled and potentially disruptive weather, much closer now within benchmark than last few days. Will have keep watch, these things are always surprises, right now shes being torn apart and is tiny.amugs wrote:Latest from NHC - wth?? Going to be in Wildwood this week.

Re: 2021 Tropical Season
Anyone see Euro operational...its disconcerting to say the least for nice end of the week/weekend, has a pretty well defined LP still as Elsa zips up the EC over land until looks like NC. Just had a very dreary weekend in VT, of course today our ride home was beautiful and my parents who stayed as it is their house said i got into 70s.

Re: 2021 Tropical Season
Elsa going to be a hurricane at FL landfall. By looks of the track parts of our area may see ts advisories if she stays where they have the center. It hasn't wavered much but 150 miles in either direction error..
