Godzilla 2022 JAN 28th-29th Observations

32*, still snowing a bit, maybe a half inch or so. Not sticking on a good bit of the driveways here since it warmed up enough for them to melt off, but some where sun doesn't normally hit are covered.

32* and have had snow flurries all morning. 1 more thing to take care of this afternoon and the snow watching (and drinking) will begin!    

Round one of snow ended here about 2:00 pm and is already mostly melted away off the deck and driveway. (0.75” total for round one.)

Still some very light snow falling in midtown after a lull.

The only part I’m likely to get right about this storm is calling it a “Heart Ache”

Our ridge axis is very impressive, but where we get into trouble is with our trough. It’s still ever so slightly positively tilted. The PvA is having a hard time consolidating at the base, which would have helped tighten this trough up a bit. It’s very broad. Just a massive massive setup that’s going to produce an incredible storm. Let’s see at one point this trough goes neutral and starts leaning negative. Hopefully our SLP isn’t too far east by that point.

What everyones thinking? The west trend of last night or east trend of today.

31.6* no precip at the moment but everything over here has an icy coating, driveway, cars, deck.
