My workplace up in FairLawn closed up at noon. I drove home in a cold rain. I think my boss jumped the gun with her decision to close early.

More freezing rain is falling. Ice on trees is getting heavier. I just don’t see how any of this will melt tomorrow. 28 now. It’s impassable out there. Super dangerous

Yikes...Hudson Valley really getting the brunt of this ice storm. Stay safe man!

Re: Monitoring February 4th
Interestingly, even though it had dropped to 33° at 8 am, it has not yet hit freezing and actually went up a couple of degrees to 35°, which is where it sits now.
I still have some piles of snowblown snow sitting in the front yard.

I've hit 31.8. Trees getting glazed a bit and I'm sure Mother Nature will give me a snow shower before this mess pulls out just to rub it in. Snow is obliterated other than piles.

Re: Monitoring February 4th
We've been sitting around 33 or so in Bloomfield for a while. Radar has shown pink for my area for more than an hour, but it remains just rain and we have nothing frozen.
Areas just to the north/west in Verona and Montclair that are sort of "up the hill" are showing below freezing temps, and it takes a bit more time to come down First Mountain and into the coastal plain. I imagine our members in the higher points in western Essex may already be seeing the freeze move in.

23° with sleet finally in Highland Mills Orange County.
Everything bending under the weight of the ice. Still astonished we have power, hopefully I didn't jinx it.
Snow pack at 6 inches with a LE of I'd guess 2 inches +. It's not going anywhere soon. Solid cover since January 7th and counting.
And Boston lost their two foot cover in five days. I can't help but chuckle.

21 and cloudy. Storm is done here. Got .20 ice accretion, 1 inch of sleet, and 1/2 inch snow. Luckily didn't get the real heavy icing like Jim in Ulster county. Im hearing they got hit hard and half the county is without power. Hope Jim is ok.

21 degrees. Picked up a quick inch of snow on top of the ice. I don't see the ice going anywhere tomorrow. So far, electric has stayed on and I too am surprised and hope I don't jinx it. There was no wind to speak of today or it could have been worse. Trees are sagging from the ice. About a quarter mile from here the Orange and Rockland grid ends and Central Hudson picks up and yes, they have some outages. Friends have said power has gone on and off. Some have no power. Everyone stay safe who got the ice.

Re: Monitoring February 4th
After a cold rainy day, we transitioned to freezing rain late this afternoon and had a little sleet and snow showers. Done now, a little glaze over everything at 26*. Heard people have been falling on the ice, so I'm staying put!
