I appreciate this little bit of silver lining right now.
We continue to snow globe with no accumulations

Fluffy is good, I thought it would be just the opposite.
I think Damian’s definition of fluffy is a lot different than the rest of us LOL.
31.3 and just continues to rip. 9 inches and counting
Season now at 27.5 inches a little over half normal and still a solid F.

In it right now. Easily 2+ inch per hour rates. I’m at 8 inches plus now so already beat Feb 28th 7.3 inch storm. if I could stay under this a couple of hours I easily make a foot. Doc 5 miles to my west already in double digits.
And no this wing is still an F- but it’s a nice ending if this is it.
F-, you're a hard man,CP,LOL.Myself, I will grade it a D- for two reasons. This nice snowstorm plus we had a 2 to 3 inch snowpack the week before Christmas with cold for a nice Holiday mood.Long range crew sees something as well.
Closing in on a foot here have been under bands for a few hours now.Visibilty way down with wind gusts.

You went from F- to F! If I were there, I would take your pulse.
Fluffy for me at age 72 is a padded toilet seat.
Radar looks good for us CP, think we keep ripping for a while.Let's get up and over a foot before this ends !

Same here. Finally starting to stick to trees and grassy areas. Unbelievable that it's been coming down at these rates and just now starting to coat colder surfaces.

But this is the first day of the 2023 snow season I've gotten to enjoy being distracted watching it fall all day out my office window. I'll call it a win.

Hoping anyways. Just got a special weather statement says going to end around 4:30, I guess we won't see that 1-3 inches, not even a trace. Had it stuck I imagine would been 3-6.

Nice pics.Never realized Monticello is 1600 feet.Driving past there on Route 17 N from Monroe ,636 feet, guess you go uo some pretty good mountains.I have to be aware of that next time I drive up to Roscoe to trout fish.
Very light snow now.Radar projection shows another band may hit 3:30-4. Will see.Very close to a foot but will defer to trained spotter up here as a lot of blowing occured today.

Sun angle and marginal temps. I remember March 2018 IMBY i had close to 40" that month. I was getting storms during peak sun angle accumulate 2"/hr. It's all about the ceiling of the clouds and temps must be below freezing. the lower the ceiling the more it resists the melting.billg315 wrote:richb521 wrote:Woohoo! It's unreal Doc. The elevation allows for much better longevity for snow depths. I've been wanting to get a winter place for a while and Sullivan Cty seems like a good area for what I'm looking for. It's not killer commute.docstox12 wrote:
