Nice pics.Never realized Monticello is 1600 feet.Driving past there on Route 17 N from Monroe ,636 feet, guess you go uo some pretty good mountains.I have to be aware of that next time I drive up to Roscoe to trout fish.
Very light snow now.Radar projection shows another band may hit 3:30-4. Will see.Very close to a foot but will defer to trained spotter up here as a lot of blowing occured today.
It's unreal Doc. The elevation allows for much better longevity for snow depths. I've been wanting to get a winter place for a while and Sullivan Cty seems like a good area for what I'm looking for. It's not killer commute.

Hovered around 34* all day today with ripping blowing snow. No accumulation. The temps is down to 32* now, so maybe I'll get a little stickage since it's expected to snow a little longer.

Just measured 10.3 inches here. Intensity has letup quite a bit the last half hour so not sure I’ll make it to a foot but no complaints here, and if I had any you’d all hear about them.

Kept seeing on the models that your area was going to do well. I know they waivered a bit, but consistently Orange Cty was favorable. The storm pulled east and your area was close enough for banding, yet far enough away from the warm air to do well.  Great storm for your area.

Snow ended a hour ago, total...0, wish there was a way to measure what actually fell. It was a lot. I thought this was supposed to go well into the night but I guess like most storms it pulled out much earlier.

EPA was a disaster this season and will go down as the worst season in recorded history.  Draw line segments from Reading, Allentown to Easton.  An absolute disaster. Matter a fact extend those segments to New Brunswick, Newark, NYC and Stamford CT.

I think you can extend that into the entire southern New England coast too up to Boston.

Where I am in Orange County is only five miles from the Hudson yet there’s mountains in between so never river effect and elevation is 600 feet so nothing like the river town in eastern Orange County like Cornwall, Newburgh and areas near West Point that have sections on the river near sea level.

28.8 for the season which is a little less than 60% of normal but this winter is still without question a solid F.

The point being what you say is true. We’re east enough to benefit from most of the coastal storms but far enough north to benefit from colder temperatures.

The Jackpot just north of I90.  It's always good up there towards Green Mountains of VT, but this incredible even by their standards. There will be measurements from this storm approaching 45" possibly 50". Superstorm 93 type amounts.

Trained spotter 1 mileN NW of Monroe reported 15.5 inches. My fencepost measured in 6 inch increments tells me we got 12.5 inches.I am going with that, maybe the trained spotter was higher up, there are some peaks around 800 feet I have been told.
Anyway, 34.7 inches for the season so a lot better than a few weeks ago.Seems March is the new February now, more snow in March.
Elevation does make a difference , even a few miles from me.A few days ago , there was still 2inches of snow OTG from the last storm and at the bottom of the hill by the Red Apple Rest, probably 300 feet above sea level, the ground was bare.I am at 636 feet.

Heehaw, Sullivan County is wonderful, love it up there.Hope you can find what you are looking for.

Heehaw, the snow very truly falls in Sullivan county. I finished with six inches. It was nice.

Some wind here but it died down. I see lower 50's here Thurs, Fri, and Tues. There goes our snowpack.

Come over the bridge to Highland Mills or Monroe, CP and Doc land. You get elevation and more snow as you saw with this one.I wish everybody would have gotten at least 4 to 6 area wide with this.

Weirdest thing ever. Something I’ve never seen on LI.  For those of you who know LI and the general area where I live,  When I left my house to drive my son to basketball it was raining and 37*.  Barely a slushy coating on the grass. I live on the north shore of LI with about 125’ of elevation.  As I headed south down William Floyd pkway the temp dropped like a stone. By the time I got to the LIE, about 7-8miles, the temp was 32, it was puking snow and at least 2-3" on the ground. I’ve never seen it get colder and snowier heading south.  So crazy

Dsix. You out there? What did you get today in Manorville

It must be proximity to the water. Aren’t water temperatures in LI sound in the low 40’s now? Can’t think of any other logical explanations.
