Had a severe thunderstorm roll through here between 2 and 3 p.m. Heavy rain and pretty strong winds. Has moved east into the NYC metro area although doesn't look as intense on the radar now as it did when it passed here.

Torrential rains pocked up .75" from tstorms. Not severe.

@Damian moderate dew here all weekend as well. NEVER have I experienced dew at this point in mid summer, dog days as I have these past 5 days

I teach college-level courses in a prison. Today it was quite warm inside. It was three hours today. It is actually a bit much for me but the men are there in the heat and humidity day after day. I bring in a thermometer. It hit 92 with 95% humidity. Rough going but bless everyone who works in it outside in the sun.

That is great work you do Damian helping the inmates improve their education.From Kindergarten through senior year of high school, we had no air conditioning.Not conducive to learning when you are broiling like a lobster at your desk.

Had some rain move through last night with heavy downpours, but nothing severe. The rain made it so much more uncomfortable, I felt like I was in the Amazon rain forest. Just awful. As of 10:25 this morning I'm at 84* and 75% humidity making it a 93* heat index already. A day to stay in and do laundry!

Heavy rain from 6:30 to 7 last night with some wind and a little thunder.Nice 57 degrees now, mostly cloudy ,calm.Looks like that broke the back of the heat, upper 70's all week.

What a wonderful morning finally no humidity the hot and I’m happy it’s gonna stay like this for the whole week. I hope it stays like this for August but I doubt it.
