March 2024 Observations and Discussion

Such a pretty day today! 47*, no wind and bright sunshine. Too bad it won't last. Looks like the next week we can't string a few days in a row of sunshine.

Started very cold this morning but has warmed up nicely here to 49*. Looks like a cool rain tomorrow but warmer on Sunday. Still looking toward next weekend/early next week to see if we can pull one more rabbit out of the hat in the snow department. If not, I'll gladly start planning along with Janet for baseball season. For that reason after April 1 (or in this case March 28) I prefer the cold to leave us entirely until November.

Same, 48* and almost an inch of rain. ick

First weekend in march and it pours, this better not be a repeat of last year where it rained every saturday, I need it to warm up and be nice every sat from now till 1st week nov for gargae sale season yay, can't wait to get out hunting for new inventory!

Was a lazy day yesterday! Biggest job was going to pick up our Sushi...(Driver was out sick)lol got 1.4 inches of rain.. currently 53* and sunny!

What a beautiful day today is I have all the windows open cleaning the house then I’m going out for a walk the park 56°

As you can see my husband is waiting for me...lol
Husband and I went to breakfast by the water and took a stroll. Then a drive with the top down..it hit 70* ..had fun till I got pulled over . (Thank goodness no ticket)Then I was the in the slow lane with all the cars passing me or beeping..

Gorgeous day today, went for a nice ride in the beautiful Hudson Valley.

54 degrees, cloudy, calm.Rainy week coming after tomorrow.

Dandelions have already popped up in our yard in New Hope, forsythia looking eager to bloom. It's only early March! This Minnesota girl is wondering whether she'll be able to see any wintry weather this year...

Just saw possibility of 3-4 inches of rain this week

A request:  could one of you weather gurus please remind me as to what significant snowstorms have taken place in March?  I have a dim recollection that there was one that kept me from travelling back to Princeton from California during the '80's or '90's...could that have been true?  And have there been others since then that were memorable?

Not sure what you consider significant, but 3/14/2017 I think I got 10" plus sleet here in Bergen County.

That's been the theme of this season's pattern.Plenty of moisture since November with below average snow.

Not sure what you consider significant, but 3/14/2017 I think I got 10" plus sleet here in Bergen County.

March 1993 Superstorm, classic Miller A that gave me 17 inches in Mahwah NJ but out in NE PA was 36 inches.

We live in a cold rainforest now like northern CA

Yup and guess what LR GFS has next 2 sat washed out!! I think my worst nightmare might come true, nice weekdays then soaking weekends, it seems like the pattern locks and onc e every 7 days (that lands on sat/sun) and until something breaks that it sticks.

The next three days are going to be a challenge….way too much rain!

42. High of 45 today. Yesterday was nice.

Yes we were in Atlantic Highlands..right up the trail from Sandy Hook

Mom, nothing like the smell of the bay this time of year with the sunsets.
