Husband and I went to breakfast by the water and took a stroll. Then a drive with the top down..it hit 70* ..had fun till I got pulled over . (Thank goodness no ticket)Then I was the in the slow lane with all the cars passing me or beeping..
Beautiful pictures, but now I'm confused...
What hit 70, the thermometer or the speedometer?

Well the weather was 70 I thought I was going 60 and thought I was keeping up with traffic..my husband said nope I was accelerating as we passed the cop car ..sndn but the police officer said that I was close.to.70 ..I was very very lucky ..from the lecture I received from my husband..that I would have had had 4 points our insurance would have skyrocketed(already high because our son is 19)...the officer gave me a ticket for my plate being obstructed by my glittery frame..he asked me if I ever had any tickets..I said yes before I was married(20 years ago) .. so my good record got me a break..ps went out today and was paranoid driving .lol

Mild, dreary, misty, with more steady rain on the way. In other words, same as usual for this March so far.

Re: March 2024 Observations and Discussion
Current snow depth shown on bottom picture. For those that look at this it's unprecedented in recorded history to have no snow depth in NNE in early March also same can be said for Marquette MI. NNE will get some significant this weekend, but this is incredible.
Boston current seasonal snowfall stands at 9.7" it the last 140 years < 10" has occurred only twice.
NYC Central Park has NEVER recorded < 10" in consecutive years.
Both are very much on the table. Very sad.

I know we are headed towards a snap back reflex La Nina coming for this summer and likely next winter.
That said, a very interesting and sudden change in SSTA in the Trop Pac. I cant honestly remember such a rapid shift in temp anomalies in the last 7 days. First map is the change over the last 7 days and the second is the current SSTA.

42* gloomy sky..calm before the next storm. We had 2.12 inches of rain from the last storm..lets see what this one brings. I will say the smell of spring is in the air! and I heard my first lawn mower yesterday.

I saw a Joe Bastardi video yesterday. I did not give it much thought but he predicts in the last part of March and April many will have more snow during that time period than so far this entire winter. A big prediction. It won't stop my mulch being delivered today.

Where you are Frank it maybe over but for Damien it's not and NW NJ either. The pattern may just lend itself to a snowstorm mostly for N of I80 I'd have to say maybe N of I287.
42 and rain....typical March day.

Re: March 2024 Observations and Discussion
38 degrees and raining. Pretty close so maybe if we look to northern NY and Northern New England there's some cold air to bring down for snow tonight. No such chance it's mid and upper 30's there too right now, although they will change to snow tonight but heavy wet snow with low 30's.
You just can't make it up.

Face reality Mugs nothing about this winter has been typical. March 9th this should be a snowstorm for most north and west of the city.

Unfortunately he's evolved into Joe Blowhard. Always telling us about the big winter patterns just 2 to 4 weeks away and when they don't come about he waits another month and just predicts it for another 2 to 4 weeks away. Eventually he's right, even the proverbial broken clock is right twice a day, but he's wrong now with his long range stuff much more often than he's right.

My lord was that some intense rain, long time since I have seen reds over such a large area. If this had not been trucking there would have been some major flood warnings. Still was wild, stil lraining but calmed down a bit, looks like another hour or two and it is out, much earlier than anticipated as usual. Probably be dry by AM. Looks like another soaking weekend next too. I am honestly going to start tracking rain totals instead of snow and how many consecutive weekends we can get of rain, I loath this.

Lightly snowing at 12:24 in am, holding at 38 degrees, not sticking to anything but it is nice to see snow! Funny thing it was 38 degrees at 4pm And is still 38 degrees, hasn’t changed! Anyhow I am confident we are going to get 2 more snow events before the winter is over, stay Positive!
Good Luck !

38 degrees, cloudy, windy. The second soaking rainstorm in another week of Wing in March, the same pattern I recognized in late November......cutting rainstorms with not enough cold air.Third year in a row with below average snow here in the LHV.

Re: March 2024 Observations and Discussion
Some mirror images here. Last night, pounding rain and 38 and yes, flurrying. I got a few stuck on my tongue. What else? 38 this morning. I am waiting to see what Tues on in 10 days shows us (if there be a cool down).
We were coming back from dinner last night around 7:30. We were up in Sullivan county. At high wiper speed, visibility was ugly. We have sprung ahead so sunrise is in half an hour. Can't wait to see if there is flooding in the wetlands on the side of my driveway. Usually it fills up like a fish bowl and goes down faster than everyone's optimism for snow.

Hello, weather friends! Anyone analyze the chance of a line of snow squalls this afternoon with that small potent 500 mb system coming through?

High wind watch up for tomorrow. Being these will be back end winds i expect it will likely verify. Those always seem to. Contemplating if i should hold off on big grocery shop in case lose power. Majority of nj is wind advisory but upton thinks 60 mph gusts possible. And for long duration. Not good with the soaked ground that is mud.
