For those under 50

In Saratoga Springs for the night headed to Plattsburgh or Lake Placid around 8:00. Hopefully the clear skies hold for the big event around 3:25. 28 here with nothing left of Thursdays snow except a few piles. Still lots of snow in Lake Placid so may stick with Plattsburgh for my afternoon viewing. Eclipse glasses in hand.

29 degrees, clear, calm winds.
Looks like perfect weather for this event CP.Enjoy it.Don't know what percent totality there will be here in Monroe.
Remember a total back in the 1960's, made a viewing device with a shoebox.You put a small hole in the box that you pointed at the sun and it projected the eclipse on the inside wall of the shoebox that you viewed through another hole you had put in it.

Mrs CP and a few friends and I ended up in Westport NY right on the shores of Lake Champlain about 35 miles south of Plattsburgh.

Very weird lighting from five minutes before totality until darkness. Temperature dropped several degrees as darkness approached.

As soon as 100% totality happened the stars came out immediately, no not Doc and Damian the stars in the sky. Of course the few dogs around started howling because they were freaked out.

Overall a once in a lifetime experience definitely worth it. Will post pictures later today.

73, mostly sunny, calm winds.Gorgeous day walked around the Town pond.Doing an ac test now to see what happens, so far so good.Going to be rainy and cool down rest of the week.

LOL, Damian, just saw this, the wheel in the sky keeps on turning all right!

Looks like Thurs/night Fri go be a weaker repeat of last Wed. Wind advisory level winds and showers/t-storms. As long as weekend is good I am okay with that, do it all you want during the week mother nature. The eclipse was cool, the streets of new rochelle were mobbed where I work near hugenot st and the firestation (well the sidewalks).

Well, I certainly hope Mother Nature is getting all this rain out of her system now so that we can have a sunny enjoyable summer.

65 degrees at 7:24 in the pm. Sky getting dark real fast , can hear thunder coming over the mountain from Pennsylvania, coming from the west,
