Ok now I'm starting to get nervous. This is like the team that celebrates with two minutes left in the game and then loses.
But what the hell it's been a frustrating period since 2/16/14.

Re: Update #4: Final Call Snow Map
Hey guys.....just looking for some thoughts/advice. Traveling with my son tomorrow to Marlborogh Massachusetts for a hockey tournament. Tournament is expected to end Saturday afternoon. What do you think for potential timing of this?? Should I be planning on staying put Saturday night in Massachusetts and not returning home to north shore western Suffolk county on LI?.....I guess looking for timing on LI and Massachusetts.....

Re: Update #4: Final Call Snow Map
I would stay overnight Saturday...visibility could be pretty bad at times and 95 is not fun on a good day

Prepare to sleep in MA Saturday night. Absolutely. Unless this storm suddenly goes OTS which is looking doubtful

I agree with this. All indications are that its going to be bad during that time frame. A little quality time with the kiddo.Dunnzoo wrote:I would stay overnight Saturday...visibility could be pretty bad at times and 95 is not fun on a good day

Piece of BIG TIME advice - do not think you will be able to drive I(% or such roads during a said snowstorm - tried that once and do not jeopardize you or your sons safety - stay overnight - maybe 2 nights up there cause MA is going to get pummeled. You will be driving into the teeth of the storm. If you can get out Friday night sure but travelling IMHO Saturday afternoon is going to be bad unless things change

Re: Update #4: Final Call Snow Map
Just checked the EURO ensembles, and there is increasing support for H5 to close off earlier. Granted, it's still too late, but only JUST. If we can get it six hours earlier we're in the money. That said, there are still only about (maybe) 30-40% of the ensemble members that close it off the same time as the OP, and only 4% (yes, four) that close it off where we want it to.

Re: Update #4: Final Call Snow Map
You may be able to get back late Sunday, but be prepared to stay until Monday. A lot still to be determined. Make sure you have supplies in your car just in case.

Depending on the timing of the snow, you might want to consider driving west inland away from the storm and spending the night in Springfield or Amherst, which is a little more than an hour's drive. They may get less snow there and then you'll have a straight shot down I-91 to Hartford on Sunday, where you can pick up I-95 or I-84. Hotels may be cheaper and more abundant out that way too. But I would check to see how far the snow has advanced before heading out.

Re: Update #4: Final Call Snow Map
Wow about half euro ensembles are big hits. Some are oddly all the way inland but those are outliers. Lp placements really consolidated within benchmark for most part and sub 980!

Ryan maue tweeted euro could deliver 40 to 70 mph gusts to coastal locations. Never been in snow and wind like that as I can remember. Deepens 44mb into Canada from Carolinas wow.

FWIW - Back to 90% probability of snow for Saturday from 60% at noon from 90% at 6am, on TWC.
