yes scott that's why places like Scranton are in the mid 30's and Montauk and the rest of li in the low 20's. cold air cannot rise up over the mountains.

Just not worth it.

Morning, SNOW. Yes, I would definitely play it safe like you. You don't want to be involved in an accident!

Maybe we got an inch here at best.

Had a nice burst of heavy snow but now nothing. Hopefully radar fills in to my south and west here.NWS still saying 4 to 6 here. We've had around 2.6 so far including yesterday, so if this low offshore kicks in, it may still happen.

Was freezing rain but when precip gets heavier it turns to all sleet. Cars are icy but main roads mainly wet, side streets have some sleet accumulation.
Any one know what its like around White Plains and points north?

While this may not be a heavy accummulating snow event for most of us, which is disappointing for some, I would not call this a non-event. Sleet and freezing rain here. Salted roads may be passable if you drive carefully, but this stuff is dangerous. Pls. be careful everyone.

Got around an inch here total. I would be thrilled with 4-6 inches.

I hear you cooladi but in terms of weather....I'm off from school for some bizarre reason.  My wife just drove to work from the north shore to the south shore.  Her drive is usually 20 minutes.  Today it took her 21!!  I week of tracking and discussing a long duration storm that drops less than 3 inches of snow on most forum members and only has sporadically falling light precip. for under 8 hours so far is a non-event.  Our best ones so far have been the least discussed ones going in!!
