You know,Jimmy, I'm starting to really get p___d off at the miserable service taxpayers are getting here.People need to get to work. You should have been plowed and salted overnight with the roads all set for the morning commute.Up here, the main road is clear blacktop.Guess I'm like CP with the Zookeeper on this issue.

BTW, great you got that 7! I think Frank nailed that area perfectly like he did for me.

It's going to be hard to get used to seeing grass in a few weeks, most of us have had snowpack for well over a month.

Boston is currently at 104.1" of snow, 3.6" away from breaking their record of 107.6" from 1995-96.

If we all lived in the Boston region instead of the NYC region, the general consensus on this board would be to have 3.6" in combined snow the next four days and then for spring to begin after that.

WOW!! Two of my idols disillusion me in one conversation. If Snow Man joins in this I may as well turn in my Snow Weenie badge. Even Mugs has hinted that one more may be it for him, and Syos whom since he has joined I always considered a die hard, has also hinted as much.

When I was nine years old, I first read about the March 11-14, 1888 blizzard that paralyzed the east Coast, especially NYC, LI, Northern NJ, Western CT, and Upstate NY.  It was brutally cold (single digits) and with howling winds and a drifting in some cases up to second story windows.

Now, with many places surrounding NYC getting over 30" of snow from that, how the heck did Central Park measure only 21" from it?????

Math, I read a few days before that 1888 blizzard, people were lounging on blankets in Central Park in the warm sun.

Reading rb's analysis of sinking air substinence, I can only assume that for some reason there is a permanent placement of that directly over CPK reducing snow totals. That probably is the most ridiculous CPK snow total of them all, that 21 inches. Why and how, I guess we'll never know.

Math what are you implying here. I think you're just trying to get a reaction from CP. tongue tongue tongue tongue You do realize if this same zookeeper undermeasured the blizzard of 1888 he would have to be at a minimum 127 years old and that means he would have been making official measurements in diapers!!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked

My comment was just a momentary lapse in judgement (I was sober Laughing Laughing ) Now I'm ready for more snow. Give me 2" tonight and if by some miracle I can get 11.5" Thursday I'd be at 70" for the season which would be EPIC!!!! cheers santa cheers santa

When I read about the 1888 blizzard, I would have thought it would measure more but was mystified when I found out that only 21" of snow had been measured. I highly doubt it was the same person as it is today but there seems to be a trend in that. I remember the 2003 President's Day blizzard and being puzzled at the age of 12 that CPK measured only 19.8" when surrounding areas had much more.
