Great GFS screws NYC, RGEM does well, NAM borderline, this is gonna be a now cast i think.

I'd lean more towards the GFS right now, has more support and is more realistic lol

so North Jersey etc will get nothing again. I have a new theory. Crazy theory that is probably true. Some punk prissy kid about aged 15 moved from California to our area. This kid hates snow. Maybe the kid loves cold dry weather. Kid joined this website last February. Kid now has learned all the hopeful weather patterns and probabilities. Kid is a hacker. They probably teach hacking in the schools today. Kid hacked into the government website (like in the classic movie War Games). Kid got control of the weather making machine (leftover technology from the Cold War). That explains the force field and every other non event. kid must be found and his abilities nullified if we ever want our winters back.

LOL,Grselig, anything is a plausible explanation.All I know is, I've been observing winter weather in this area 54 years, and the last five years have been amazing with the S and E shifts of these snowstorms (Juno anyone?).It's gotten so that I automatically say that any major snowstorm a few days out on the models is going to go S and E, and most of the time, I am right! Take tomorrows storm.There was the NAM clown snow map snowing 12 inches for my area and now it's all going south (the heavy stuff).I posted yesterday that N and W areas were going low on this storm and so far, I am right.Just went with the trend.

Right now, rivers and lakes of meltwater on the roads.After this two for a nickle, penny ante 4 incher tomorrow, I have had it.Want it to warm up , melt gradually and be able to get out fishing again.

Before the Channel 7 Board, I would not even follow or be interested any storm under 12 inches.Small potatoes.I would only be interested in anything 12 inches plus and REALLY be interested in 20 inch plus storms.I've seen too many big ones to get excited about crappy little storms like tomorrows up here.

I'll excuse it to your fall from the weekend.

Anyway chalk up 3.3 inches from yesterdays heavy snow then sleet onslaught. We're over 65 for the season now despite all the scroo jobs. It's amazing when you think about it.

That's 3 winters in a row now above 65 inches, so as you say despite the S and E bias we keep making out okay in the end. You also have to remember alot of those S and E storms end up as mixes and slop for many of them that they actually hit.

yea docs you are so right lived up here long enough big storms were the norm but now these little ones don't get me excited plus i own a trucking company and have been screwed with all these busts that i had to work around ready for warm up too lost some money this year!

Jim, there is also a money issue for me.I want to list my house for sale in Mahwah but can't because of the two foot snowpack.My yard is inacessable and people can't get back there to see it.

Doc, i do hope you feel better from the fall. My thoughts on the banter are to try to have some fun. i guess I am dating myself with War Games. If a storm has over 8" potential, I am interested. I think that growing up a storm of 6" or more canceled school. Otherwise it was a waste. I try not to bet excited, but no matter, because I end up following it. Its part of the fun. Its Mother Nature. My concern is that all this slush may freeze again in the cold and create some dangerous conditions.

Sorry, old buddy, I'ts time for me to move on to Spring.Won't mind a few more to get us over 70 inches.And if we do break that 71.4 of 2013-2014, I expect the HV to award me the golden snowflake medal of honor for moving up here and bringing good luck with me to the area! (I'll shave real close for you to kiss me when you award me with it,LOL).

Grselig, I'm a tough old bastard.Fell down half a flight of stairs with a broken wine glass all around me and all I was is a little sore.Matter of fact, just got back from shoveling 2 feet of snow off of a 20 foot by 15 foot deck in Mahwah so i don't need to have an EKG.I'm alive here typing this,LOL!

Since the 7 board and now Franks, I follow all the snowstorms for fun, but deep down only get crazy when I see 12 inches on the ground that day and 6 to 8 more hours of 2inch per hour snowfall lined up on the radar.

Gonna be bad with all this meltwater and new snow.Hazardous!!!

Jim you just named the only reason its acceptable to be sick of snow, and that's when it costs you in the wallet.

Doc, no kiss on the cheek until the winter we break the 95-96 record of 118 inches.

If we ever make a movie about this forum that Patton scene you reference will have to be in it. Snow Man can play Patton.

A medal, if we surpass last years 71.4 is definitely in order though.
