Re: March 2015 Observations & Discussions
Great stuff, CP.I should have remembered this but I don't think it was associated with any snowfall and that's probably why I didn't.I think there was a big snowstorm in Jan or Feb of 1967.In any event, I would have been walking the 1 1/2 miles to and from High School during that cold spell and probably froze my arse off,LOL!

Just don't look directly at this picture. Make sure to view through a piece of cardboard with a pin prick hole casting a shadow on a piece of paper underneath.
I believe only those over 45 or so will understand. Amazing picture.

LOL, yep, the old "pinhole in the shoebox" trick to view solar eclipses in the 50's,60's and 70's.
Remember your parents saying "Don't look at the sun it will burn your eyes out!"
My Tasco Refractor Telescope given to me in 1965, which I still have and use has a white plate you attach that projects the eclipse on.You have to use that plate to find the sun without looking at it.How many nights I sat outside in 10 degree weather looking at the rings of Saturn, Moons of Jupiter and the "Big Red Spot" on Jupiter or the canals of Mars when it got close every 18 years.
Ah, those analog days!

It's going to feel like winter tomorrow. Temps in the 30s with a NW wind. Ouch.

Jman. I just figured by now they would have figured out something more high tech. It's good to know some of our old archaic methods haven't been improved upon.
BTW I was always one of those kids that wanted to look directly at it too.

I didn't keep track of my snowfall this season but I know I have around 10.4" give or take for March so far. Hoping to add on to it a lot before the month ends.

Interesting. Will have to take a closer look at that later on. It was only in the low 20's this morning. How depressing.

Re: March 2015 Observations & Discussions
Temps could get near 60 degrees on Thursday. Cloud cover may prevent that, but mid 50's look likely. Overcast and rain could start as early as Wednesday evening. Will become steady later on Thursday.
