We just need to make the EURO model compatible with forecasting Mars weather and we'll be all set.

What I don't understand is that Joaquin has been sitting and spinning over the Bahamas for days now and one would expect major damage down there, yet when I look at a webcam from Port Nassau it just looks like a cloudy day with a little wind. Strange.

Port Nassau is about 175-200miles NW of the center.

It looks like Port Nassau is far enough west to avoid the worst of the winds, especially since Joaquin is tracking north-northeast now.

With the storm being so big I thought it would be affecting the whole chain of islands, but you guys are right, it did plenty of damage to central and southern islands. And as you said Frank, it is now tracking north/northeast.
