I posted in the LR thread a pattern change won't come until end of next month. Hopefully we get lucky with some well timed events in early January.

The article notes El Nino should not be blamed for "everything" but wow, no snow in Buffalo yet and what a difference from the last couple of years...and that "the worst is yet to come" . So do not blame El Nino for everything but more "bad" is coming. It wasn't very clear to me that way but then again I do not write for Fox News.

The article shifts some blame from the ElNino to the AO and Polar Vortex. They think the current ElNino is different than the 97-98 and 82-83 water temperature wise in the Pacific.Interesting.

Anyone else notice that the snow falls in the direction of where the mouse is positioned? Slide the mouse to the left snow falls left, slide to the right...snow falls to the right... keep it in the middle snow falls strait down.

I took a screen snapshot of Amy Freeze showing 20 degree departures from average temps from last year and this year across a six-day span. Too bad I do not know how to upload it. If anyone wants to try it, I can send it to you. It illustrates nicely

Here is how to upload your picture: You may need to be on your PC to see it. Your phone will prob be too small. Send yourself the picture in an email, so you can upload it to your Home or work comp.
Step one: Click the circled icon
" />
Step 2: click "Choose File"
" />
Step 3: Once you click choose file something like this pops up. On the left hand side you need to go to the area where you have the picture saved if on your PC. I always save the pics I want to upload onto this site on my desktop so its easy for me to find, but you can save it anywhere. Once you find the picture you want left click on it once then click open. If its on your phone you should be able to access your photo library at this step and cont to follow the steps going forward.
" />
Step 4: Once this screen opens pick any of the 3 lines and highlight the entire URL (black arrow), then right click over it and "Copy", then lastley click Upload.
" />
Step 5: Withouit clicking anything else click on the Icon I have circled in this image, left click to drop the curser into the space labled URL, now right click and click paste. This should drop the entire URL address you highlighted and copied in step 4. And lastely click insert. You should now be able to click send and voila! If you want clcik preview first to make sure all went ok. Hope that works for you.

Scott, can you copy this into the Off topic thread? I put instructions there earlier and made it a sticky so folks could find it. A few members have been asking lately and it was getting buried in the threads. I did a quick note, but yours is great!

At this point screw winter. 60s near 70 some places. A drop in temp at this point would just suck. I'm all ready for spring again, longer days and warm weather. I guess this is what Christmas feels like to those in the south of the equator? LOL

People have asked when the pattern change will occur. My response: March 13th, just in time for when we set the clocks ahead one hour. It will begin a prolonged stretch over a couple of months of light rain with gusty northeast winds and daytime highs in the low 40s...

I believe we should now declare me the winner of at least the snowfall prediction for December through February. I predicted 7.4 inches which I thought was to high at the time but now if we get there in Central Park it will be a miracle. I'm guessing the HV won't even see 20 inches this year, at this point last year we were already over a foot.
I've lived through a few strong El Ninos in winter, in my day and I've hated every one of them.
I've always loved the month of May, but not in December.
