1pm temps newark 87, jfk 85, cpk 84, lga 82. Don't think we will hit 90 today in the city maybe parts of Western Jersey the Hudson Valley will reach it.

Yesterday AccuWeather was showing highs of 93 and 91 for Friday and Saturday respectively for my area. I just checked it's now shows 83 and 74 for the same days. That's an incredible blunder less than two days out. I'm assuming the reason is that backdoor Cold front  which wasn't well models and wondering if it has to do with such a negative NAO at the present time?

87° here and clouds building, feels much more comfortable today. I don't think we will hit 90° here. A line of storms is forming at the Delaware River, we'll see if we get some action this afternoon.

Those cells over nj aren't moving one bit those small areas are go b deluged.

Starting to rumble outside right now should be an interesting afternoon storm wise

Those storms just won't budge amazing, flash flood warnings up and a svr tstorm warning for that cell in jrsy that looks particularly ugly.

I had 99 Wednesday but my car could be off.  It was still way to hot for my liking.  Today was more of a normal July day.

Wow the nice looking cells are disintegrating just before they hit my area

Yes Wednesday was very uncomfortable but more because the dew points were very high. Most of the region was between 90 and 95, which only lasted an hour or two, with normal temperatures between 85 and 88 so only 5 degrees above normal. Sometimes it's 80 with the dew point of 74 and it's very uncomfortable. And yes car thermometers are usually 3 to 5 degrees too warm

Janet amazing contrast in temps today. I'm only 10-15 miles east of you and it's perfect outside. 74* dp 67 with a Cool Breeze I'll sign up for this any day in July except when I go to the beach

Backdoor cold front I hate in spring but can be your friend in July.
After a few pleasently warm days it looks like the heat will build back in mid to late next week.

It's about as warm today as it was on Christmas Eve last year..

By now it was 75 degs on Christmas eve  now its 70 degs crazy weather

I don't think we will see any severe weather due to the e wind esp for long island NYC parts of jersey

Both the GFS and euro have lost the heat signal for late next week and next weekend. Longe range gfs has another anamolous trough post ten days. So far after 9 days in July Central Park is slightly below normal. And that's with a minor so called Heatwave. Plus this weekend, seven to ten days ago on guidance, was supposed to be a scorcher with temps near 100 per euro. Well today's high temp in Central Park is 72 I think guidance was just a little off

With la nina still not having formed and the lag time when it does should we expect any unusually hot weather?

Last day of my vacation...back to work tomorrow Its absolutely beautiful out here 72 degrees. Going for a walk with my wife.

its almost middle of july and its only 78 degs and comfortable i will take this then the heat muggy crap it is perfect day
