Zooming out and looking at it closely you may be right. Hopefully we are only half way thru this thing. Now with darkness approaching maybe we add 2-3” on top. Here’s to hope

Re: December 9th Storm - Snow Map
Great band from NYC metro west and south through Philly. Moving slowly east. If it holds together and now that the sun is setting we will get another 2-3 between 4:30 and 8. If I get to 4-5” this will have been a nice event IMBY. 2.5” here as well

Re: December 9th Storm - Snow Map
Here in northwest Orange County, I have at 4 pm about 4.5 inches. It is 30 degrees. It is almost a light sleet. Doesn't seem to be much bark left in this storm.

4" here, was under a good band for a while, right over me and mugsy, snowing lighter now but looks like we are in it for a while yet. Looks like LI is busting east of Brentwood...

Re: December 9th Storm - Snow Map
the park is at .28 le at 4 pm. at 1pm they were at .15 with 1.8" of snow so they should be over 3" by now. ratio's are over 10:1 which I thought would happen with dews in the teens this morning.

Re: December 9th Storm - Snow Map
jman you need to go outside and measure. we have been in the sweet spot with this storm. latest disco from NWS...
"Do have some concern about a fairly persistent band of snow
stretching from NE NJ into SW CT. There are some signs its
beginning to shear out, but if it maintains itself, would not be
surprised to see a few reports of 6-7+ inches under the band.
Have taken that segment of the advisory, upped totals to 4-6
inches and added the phrase locally higher amounts possible to
reflect this potential. However, if this band does not end up
weakening within the next couple of hours, will need to strongly
consider expanding the Winter Storm Warning westward to cover
the area under the band.
Otherwise, the snow forecast and headlines remain mainly
unchanged, with a winter storm warning for SE CT/S New Haven
County and all but SE Suffolk County (5-7 inches of snow) and a
winter weather advisory for the remainder of the CWA (2-6 inches
of snow - lowest amounts on far eastern portions of the S fork
of Long Island, with mainly 3-6 inches elsewhere - except as
noted in the previous paragraph.

I got around 1.5 to 2 inches now, mostly on the grass but some spots on pavement have stuck decently. I will see how much work I have tomorrow morning!

3.2" here on grass. Main roads are mainly wet, slightly slushy.
some side streets are more snow covered. I worked in dobbs ferry earlier and the snow was sticking much better there on the roads.

Nice pics Jim.
Something about snow in December before the holidays. And there is potential for more next week.
