Looks like September is going to challenge August in the "most boring weather" contest.

Went fishing on Lake Welch today and had to wear a light jacket even in the sun.The wind had a chill to it.A real Fall feel to it this AM, crisp, clear and breezy.

Re: September 2013 Observations & Discussions Thread
Based on the CFS V2 that has been showing this for a while now, it looks like we will have a warm up mid to late month, in the 10-15 day period which falls into the 21st. It looks as if we will have some strong ridging in the Eastern Pacific allowing for a trough and cooler temps in the western part of the country. Which would make sense as the PNA is still negative at the time. But what that means is that we will have a large ridge in the East giving us above average temperatures at the time. Some where more than likely between +2 through +5 right now. The average temperature for NYC on the 21st is 71 degrees. So the temperatures will more than likely be between the mid 70s to maybe the low 80s if temperatures over perform. Precipitation wise, with the large HP over head, it doesn't look like right now that we will have any meaningful precipitation just yet, BUT that could certainly change as the CFS has a rain event 4-5 days after the planned date which could be speed up. But that right now is probably a less likely scenario until we get closer. So it looks like the weather pattern could be in your favor for your wedding. Just keep checking back here every few days to see if anything shifts as we are still a long way away!Scullybutcher wrote:My wedding is on Saturday the 21st in Brooklyn. Thank you all. No tropical storms. Sandy put 5 feet if water into the River Cafe last year. We can't have that. Lol

The GFS for next weekend is showing high temps in the upper 60's to low 70's and lows in the low 40's and mid 30's.
Pretty cold and unusual if that comes to fruition.

Looks like we will be looking at temps in the 90's Wednesday and maybe Thursday. Looks to remain fairly dry as well.
Re: September 2013 Observations & Discussions Thread

Re: September 2013 Observations & Discussions Thread
There will be a cold front passing through again, but as we have seen for the last few weeks, these fronts aren't packing a lot of qpf with them. Quick movers. I do think it will rain but not enough to hinder any plans, in my opinion. That being said, Thursday looks like the worst day of the week. Probably periods of showers and t-showers with heaviest period coming late afternoon. .25-.75 inches of rain with locally higher amounts whereever t-storms develop.docstox12 wrote:Frank, I'm looking at NWS and they are calling for heavy rain, showers and thunderstorms Weds night, Thurs and Thurs night. You sure about that dry forecast? Looks like my kids soccer games will be cancelled Thursday after school - oh well we need some rain! Doc good luck with your Mets -= the only good thing they have right now is their gorgeous stadium - beats the hell out of the new Yankee Stadium - sorry guys just one man (and all my friends) opinions - we went there a couple of weeks ago and were totally impressed by it. Enjoy Doc

Thanks, Mugs, we'll see how Thursday plays out, it may be a rain out.
I was at Citi in May, and it is a beautiful stadium, lot's of character reminding me of the old Ebbets Field.Don't know about the comparison with the new Yankee Stadium as I haven't been there.
