Models are beginning to show a line of heavy t-storms develop for Thursday. I'll put up a more detailed review after 00z runs tonight.

Re: September 2013 Observations & Discussions Thread
A line of showers and storms wll develop between 2:00 and 5:00pm tomorrow and continue into the evening hours. We will clear out by Friday morning, with cooler than normal conditions expected Friday-Sunday.
The line of storms tomorrow could produce heavy rain, but I do not think they will be severe. This is simply another cold front that will bring less than 1 inch of rain to most people, locally higher amounts wherever the heavy t-storms set up.

Re: September 2013 Observations & Discussions Thread
Severe thunderstorm watch box extend so far into Eastern PA. Well see if the NWS issues one for the area as the cold front pushes east. Most of the models keep the line strong and together. We will see how the instability and CAPE values hold as the line approaches. The HRRR keeps the CAPE high until around 6-7 Pm tonight as this is when the first of the main precipitation of the line arrives. Have to keep a eye on this as the cells in NNJ and NY today produced pronounced extremely heavy rain and good GTG lightning. Be careful tonight and watch out for lightning!!

Re: September 2013 Observations & Discussions Thread
Thanks for the update Ryan. Current radar shows a lot of strong storms off to our west. We'll have to see later on if they hold together by the time they get here. I think they will

This satellite does a good job of showing where convection is firing up

Storms were amazing today at my house, 1 severe storm, 2 more very strong storms. Lightning was CRAZYY!!! Soo many strikes that hit within 1 mile and there 3-4 that hit within 100 ft. Best storm day of the season in my opinion.

It was crazy here too...1.33" in a little over an hour. Lightning was insane! So dangerous.

Was very surprised to not have a drop so far. Most of the heaviest convection stayed to the north and now to the south. Very Very humid at 90% still. Though maybe the structure of storms in south NJ moving NE enough and will hopefully clip us and help out the fire in Seaside.

If this were winter, parts of Colorado would have 100+ inches of snow. It is non-stop rain over there and three have already died. 20-foot walls of water too, apparently.
Re: September 2013 Observations & Discussions Thread
With limited cloud cover by tonight, it looks as if we will have good radiation cooling allowing for some chilly temps tonight into tomorrow morning...

Get out the firewood and blankets! I see 48* for me here in NENJ may get a few degrees colder if we get radiational cooling - aka clear skies.

There is a nice little line cruising across the Sound, wonder if it will hold up by the time it gets to the North Fork?
I measured 3/4" last night but it was coming down in sheets and perhaps the gauge didn't get an accurate reading.

Re: September 2013 Observations & Discussions Thread
Instead of navigating all of the threads, I'm consolidating my reply to everyone at once. Frank, Kuroda is done, 39 yrs. old, 200 innings on that elbow, he's shot, send him back to Japan next season, do not pick up his option. As for the 29 lurkers, some of us just like to read your input and do not have anything left to add because you pretty much cover it all, (especially QuietAce) and u too Frank. To NoFo.... the wife took the kids to a BDay party tonight, wanted nothing more then to jump on the boat and go scouting for some Bass, what did i get?????????????25 MPH winds from the North , go figure. Hopefully the seas lay down by Sunday and I can try again......
