Re: Wx Banter Thread 3.0
What is 33? Sorry if I am behind in the know. Look , I dunno why you all are thinking anything will happen for us, this is going to be 3 years worth of snow for the south, it will cause mass mayhem and devastation. I always say when something like that is on the table it often times happens, look at Sandy, I never doubted the Euro for a second on that one. NO T WISHING HARM OR SAYING I WANT THESE BAD SETUPS but this just isn't our time.

Re: Wx Banter Thread 3.0
Speaking of the south, I have a question: Just how far south is the cold air likely to dig? While I've been enjoying some light torment of my daughter down in Columbia, SC with the possibility of snow, I'm also aware that if even a dusting sticks things down there get screwy. Also, while I know that looking at the models for snowfall amounts is a no-no, especially this far out, I was stunned to see the FV3 showing a possible 2 feet for an area so far south.

Book it, its just our luck that thats probably where it will be, shoot lets get 2 feet for orlando too lol. screwey? I think it would bring the area govt to a standstill for weeks. I sure hope things change but something about this one just does not sit with me to be our white gold storm.TheAresian wrote:Speaking of the south, I have a question: Just how far south is the cold air likely to dig? I know the snow threat is still 5 days out. But as of now it is not looking too promising. I gotta say last week we were looking at2 threats. Today and the 10th. Today was a miss. The next one doesn’t look good as of now (yes I know a lot can change) If we miss that one too and the south gets snow I’m gonna need some medication. Al and Scott and Skjns amongst others were excited for this period. To get shut out would be brutal. I also can’t help but feel that 10 days of daytime highs in the 30s in early December is very rare and to not capitalize a few times would hurt real bad

A year or two ago they got an inch that didn't stick for a whole day and she told me for a while people were driving like the roads were a rink. I've lived in NY all my life so the idea that so little snow could cause such havoc seems almost fictional. And Syo, you've always got the Sanitarium to visit if the frustration gets to me too much.

Someone made a comment on FB that the CMC was a huge hit, this is completely false unless theres a new CMC.

Do not fret. It looks like SC will see mainly rain from that system.

Models performed horribly with this system. I gotta say...GFS may have been the most consistent showing a southern slider

I am right there with you captain!! This sucks big time. The Mammoth pattern for December that models were showing back in late November have the cold but storm track for us white gold wise nill. It looked very promI sing 5 days ago and before. Factors were the MJO phase 2, scan blocknretrograding, PNA Ridge forming, 50/50 jet diving into the gulf region all there.syosnow94 wrote:I know the snow threat is still 5 days out. Re: Wx Banter Thread 3.0
This is the bad part about have a pretty frigid November, especially one with a snowstorm. December winds up being a let down and a "reload" month. Rather have a warmer November instead. Snow in December is good, even for people who don't like storms because it's more of a holiday feel. After Christmas, its a bit depressing as the lights start getting taken down and things resume as normal. Hopefully we get something sooner rather than later, but for now some temps late next week will be flirting with 50.

I wonder if we will have a white Christmas this year even if it doesn't snow on Christmas Day .

Congratulations Kid. Good job. Hope to hear great things and looking forward to your tracking with us this winter.
I’m having A REAL HARD TIME with all this wasted cold. And now we get 2” of qpf in the form of rain after 10+ days of below normal temps AND the possible threat for Monday has trended poorly on the most recent model runs. OTI SANITARIUM FOR ME
