Re: APRIL 2nd 2018 SNOW!!! Model Discussions AND Observations
Almost over , very light none accumulating snow left.
7 in total!!!
Pretty amazing, 60 in total for the year with only 18 in as of the beginning of March! I would have to say that March did turn out to be cold and snowy!

About a half hour ago, I took a measurement here by the turtle pond (the Castle is on the other side). It came out to just over 5” (there were no trees above where I put my ruler)

Re: APRIL 2nd 2018 SNOW!!! Model Discussions AND Observations
Third Yankee home opener since 1982 canceled by a snow storm. April 6 1982 9.6 inches, more like a foot in the Bronx, & April 7th 2003 4.0 inches closer to 5-6 in Bronx and now today 4.8 inches so far at KNYC .
In 1996 the April 9th home opener they played in Mid 30's and various snow intensity throughout the entire game. They still replay that game on YES, it's pretty funny to watch. At some points in the game the snow begins to stick to the outfield grass.

Re: APRIL 2nd 2018 SNOW!!! Model Discussions AND Observations
Just in from shoveling. 4.5 inches on the driveway, 6.25 inches out back on the deck.
This was not as heavy to shovel as the last storm and happily did not stick to the shovel.
Seems to be winding down here - only very light snow now.
My school has a shortened spring break too due to excess snow, and having snow today is a really cruel twist of fate.

5.8 inches here and winding down. May just go over 6.
83.1 now for the season, upgrades my winter grade to a B+. I still can't give an A after the warmest February in History. If we do get a storm next weekend though the April may offset the February for an A. We shall see.
Measure quickly everyone, compression and melting may have already begun.

Warning criteria storm.
No one believed GEM LAM or 3k NAM but they nails this.
TV pro met sucking again calling for 1-3" and 2-4" slushy inces.
Never understate the power of the Negative EPO or NAO combo ,NEVER!!

Amy Freeze said the city would get 1-3 inch total snowfall at her 8:20 am update this morning.
Central Park reported 4.8 inches at 8am this morning. Sometimes they are so clueless you just shake your head.

50 inches since March 2 Doc.
85 or more I've seen several times, 50 inches after March 1 I'm not sure If I ever have seen that.

CP, that 50 inches in March is epic. That's our normal here for an entire winter. In all my years observing winter weather in these parts, the most in a season I got was over 79 in Mahwah NJ in the '95-'96 winter. This 85 inches plus in Monroe with more possible is beyond belief for me.
