4.8 for a low this morning.
Very impressive for November 23rd.
For as cold as the last week has been the month is still only 2.5 to 3.5 below normal region wide. It speaks to how mild the beginning of the month was.

For yesterday, I had four degrees waking up, the coldest Thanksgiving I have seen. Today around 7 am 14 degrees. Now if we get some snow I am down with a cold, snowy winter. It is what I pay taxes for, a change of seasons.

Cloudy, cold.Hate these scenarios where there is single digits and a few days later a soaking rain.Glad this November cold snap yielded an 11 inch snowstorm.I also hate cold and dry without any snow to show for it.

1.51" of rain here overnight. The wind was blowing pretty good, but not as bad as I'm sure folks along the shore saw.

Re: Movember
We ended up with 2.76 inches of rain...but the wind was insane..it was strong..in the 20's...but it was different this time..it was a constant stream of wind..like you would have during a hurricane..or if you were in a wind machine...it was strange and exciting at the same time.. I do not know where to look to find out where wind totals are for the area.. Jman you would have loved it!

Re: Movember
Brief rain yesterday, but apparently it froze and left everything with a nice icy glaze. I didn't have to deal with it because I was already in for the day, but it was an unpleasant reminder that dry cold isn't the worst thing about wintery weather.

I bet lol, no wind here as far as I know. Just a dreary rain overnight, and it wasn't ever all that heavy.weatherwatchermom wrote:We ended up with 2.76 inches of rain...but the wind was insane..it was strong..in the 20's...but it was different this time..it was a constant stream of wind..like you would have during a hurricane..or if you were in a wind machine...it was strange and exciting at the same time.. Re: Movember
I went onto my Excel chart and put in the projected high/low temperatures from today through the end of the month and combined them with the high/low temperatures through yesterday. If the forecasted temperatures verify, then November 2018 would end up at 44.1*, 3.6* below the 1981-2010 November normal. Using the 1871-1900 November normal, however, it would be 0.5* above average.
The 1981-2010 November temperature mean is 47.7*
The 1871-1900 November temperature mean is 43.6*
The last November to be below the 1871-1900 average was in 1996 (43.0*).
The last month to be below the 1871-1900 average was February 2015 (23.9*, 7.1* below the 1871-1900 normal; 11.4* below the 1981-2010 normal).

MONDAY NIGHT...
The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a * Flash Flood Watch for portions of northeastern New Jersey and southeastern New York, including the following areas, in

The flashy river basins of northeastern New Jersey and the lower Hudson Valley are especially vulnerable to quick rises and flash flooding. Urban flooding is also a possibility in the heaviest rain late Monday afternoon into Monday evening.
