Re: December 1st-2nd Winter Storm
thanks for keeping us posted..I was just outside this morning...it feels and smells like snow..so even being down by the Hook(we for the moment are in the purple)...I hope we at least get a dusting to go along with the xmas music and decorating..It's currently 33 degrees, with a real feel of 21....@Frank_Wx wrote:The RGEM/NAM are showing snowier solutions because of how they are handling the ULL. They promote banding to take hold over the area. Check out 700mb frontogenesis on the latest RGEM. Anyone under those purple circles are seeing snow rates of 2"/hour.

Van that ccb band move a few miles to the east literally other side Hudson sees a foot can literally see over there from my side lol. That's go be very hard to pinpoint until it's happening I think. Frank do you feel that band is real now or still skeptical . it's so close to me it's go be nail biting a few runs ago it was right over me. Honestly if euro is right and I see 6 inches I'll be happy cuz nws has 2 to 4 and just a wwa as I stated b4 about 15 miles north wsw for up to 12.

This is some really sharp cutoffs for the Atlantic coast all the way up through Red Sox Suck. The warming influence of the ocean is part of it but some of it may be where the heaviest bands (if they do materialize) setup.
No one's out of the ballgame yet, but certain areas like Albany have been near the bullseye for several days now.
Where is Math through all of this? He stands to benefit more than anyone right now.

30* and Cloudy here. Dew Point 17*. Had a small area of snow/sleet pass by on radar a bit ago but not really reaching the surface. The HRRR has an interesting look for tomorrow and does have steady mid to heavy snow wrapping back in late in the day tomorrow even as far south as SEPA and Del. For what it’s worth.

9 am and sleetish/icish stuff falling. Surprising to me considering it is 20 degrees out up here. Coating with an increasing glaze. Wind is 12 mph.

Re: December 1st-2nd Winter Storm
Current radar shows the leading edge of the steady precipitation moving from Maryland and Central PA into SNJ and SE PA right now. Also, has it progresses northeast it will “fill in” and be less scattered (all models in agreement on that). So expect steady snow/sleet in NNJ within a couple hours, probably by noon. Then it’s a waiting game on the changeover time - nowcasting for that.
