So algea I am pretty much in the Bx, a few miles north maybe 2-3, so I would assume I am in a bad spot too. Lots of treees and Yonkers is known for dead trees and branches as they do not do tree trimming due to budget.

Con Edison is weary too, doesn't look good, I think I may have jinxed us with my worry of ice this year. Something told me we would have a fairly severe ice storm as we have had everyother type of serious storm over the years. Sorry : (

Is it just me or does that show .75-1 inch in parts of NJ? Kinda hard to tell the difference i nthe colors, that would be even worse. I will hope for the best for you guys, it will be bad enough here. Heres the Coned Link for any NYC or Westchester residents (southern WC as can be seen by the maps).

Re: February 5th Updated Snow Map / Discussions 3.0
NAM is too warm in mid-levels yet again for places north. Yet now shows I-95 NW under freezing for the entire duration of the storm.
http://www.meteo.psu.edu/~fxg1/ETAPA_18z/etaloop.html
I've never seen 1.2" of ice and I don't really want to be honest. Models have done the worst possible thing for I-95, trended warmer aloft and colder at the surface.

I am sorry I know I have asked this before but I just want to check, is the ice totals on NWS and the other maps shown just freezing rain? That will add a ton of weight to the power lines and trees if we get that even few inches of snowfirst and then incase it in ice. Looks like I may stay home tomorrow.

Re: February 5th Updated Snow Map / Discussions 3.0
From Con Edison:
NEW YORK - A wintry mix of snow and freezing rain expected overnight and tomorrow could lead to power outages, and Con Edison reminds customers to stay safe and keep away from any downed power lines.
Heavy accumulation of snow and ice on tree branches could snap limbs or bring down trees onto power lines, causing customers to lose power. Customers can report downed power lines, outages and check service restoration status at www.conEd.com or by calling 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633). When reporting an outage, customers should have their Con Edison account number available, if possible, and report whether their neighbors also have lost power.

Mt. Holly lowered ice threat in my area and put it further north, also took snow completely out of equation near and SE of I-95, agree with the snow but do not agree with the ice changes. Things are not trending well, this is becoming dangerous.

NJ, yeah 1.2 freezing rain is insane and would immobilze the area for a long time not to mention massive power outages. Even 0.3-0.5 which is what NWS shows in my area is enough to do some dmaage if not alot. I just hope it doesnt get seriously cold right after and people have to freeeze i their homes. And then we only have a few days before a major snowstorm, I am really getting concerned.

Right, this is not an event where the low will drag a warm front along and melt it, instead, the low will form off the coast and heights will crash after precip exits, it will get cold, and fast, models now not showing temps above 32 at all is a big issue.
