Up to 30° here on L.I. Winds from the northwest at 14 mph.The only good thing about this cold weather is that it makes it easier to scoop up the dogs' turds in the backyard.

36 degrees, sunny, calm wind.Glad to see this crappy layer of ice that has been here almost a week starting to melt off from that useless slop storm earlier last week.At least the driving will be good for Christmas and New Years with temps in the 40's.Also,thankfully it's not torching up into the 50's like some awful times we had at Christmas.Gotta stay with a glass half full outlook here.

People out jogging in t shirts and shorts,LOL.I'm in Fort Lee today, 56 degrees.If all we were going to get the rest of the winter was rain or slop storms, I'll take this.Looks like mid January for the next snow set up.NWS has a minor snow chance for me Thursday night but it's a pretty weak system.

Beautiful stretch of weather since last Thursday! Can't remember so many consecutive sunny days in late December and it was cold enough to make snow on the ski slopes up until Sunday and took advantage of it.

Nice day at Ringing Rocks Park in my hood.

Up at our freinds in Northern Westchester Cty. about 30% of their lawn still had snow and ice on it!!

Finally finished cooking our 7 fishes We made baked clams seafood salad With Calamari crab meat. Shrimps Catfish lobster tail And muscles. If anybody’s hungry my door is open come on over LOL merry Christmas

I believe that's 8 consecutive days now for no precipitation. Don't expect any more rain until around 12/30 or so and then 1" could in the cards.

I think it's going to be sufficiently warm at night and during day until 12/30 to bring NYC temps AN for December. My guess is at least .5 degrees or so. Be interested to see how the suburbs wind up.

A/O today 12/27, Poughkeepsie area is still .9 degrees below normal for the month. Our normal temps this time of year are 37/18. Looking at forecast temps the next 4 days I think we will end the month normal to slightly above.

Ouch looks like northern folks and New England are in for a severe ice storm Sunday. A half inch of frz in all areas!! Yikes!

MOG 2.92!!! And WSW are up so they are taking this seriously, doc and you guys up tere you look like you may be in for a world of hurt too or is that further north than you?

This will be devasatiation if comes true.

My parents will be driving from near rutland VT down 91 to CT coast Sunday or monday not sure exactly, will this be possible? From the looks of the ice map you would have to be crazy to try to drive on Sunday in that area.

Elevation is going to play a major part with this icing. Eastern Catskills, Helderbergs, Berkshires, Northern Litchfield Hills, have the best chance of seeing .50 or more of ice. The valleys are going to be fine with very little to no ZR as that map shows.

Very loud clap of thunder right now. I had to check the radar to make sure it was thunder and not an earthquake!

It’s odd to have a thunderstorm on December 30, isn’t it?

This has been an abysmal 24 hours of weather. Although I’m very glad it’s not ice.
