So even the citys web bulb is near 32 and there air temp is around 35 right now. That won’t do it for ice accretion.

White plains may see ice impacts they sit at 32 right now, maybe thats why they are taking more precautions, amazing what 20 miles makes in terms of temps and precip.

Precip is very very light. Radar won’t make it out just yet. Common sense tells you that when the air temp is above freezing with a S-SE wind it won’t be snowing.

Current surface temp freeze line. You can expect wherever you are at now subtract 2 degrees in the next hour or two.

LOL Rooms getting testy already yikes, Frank yes I get your point but the radar shows blue for snow, so I guess its snowing in the upper atmosphere but due to the higher temps as you said common sense it will rain at surface.

No rain or snow yet temperature is still above freezing 36°. By my area in throggs neck The city is not taking any chances they’re putting tons of salt all over the highways

If thats exact which I know it isnt that literally puts me at a 50/50 of ice or rain, the ice is literally on the border of the bronx and yonkers, and I am closer to the lower half of yonkers than the northern half, I just checked temps in the northern parts of yonkers and they are actually a degree or two less, amazing. Now where I work is another story (white plains, NY) they are probably 10-15 miles from the ice/rain line. If I have to go in it could be a worlds difference depending.

Yep saw the lines on yonkers roads, what is that some kind of spray? its perfect straight lines across the entire lane evenly spaced. No rock salt as far I could see except a very few spots. Snow plows are hanging out waiting. They may be waiting a long time if this busts lol

They are using a liquid salt BRINE it is a solution of salt and water it has a freezing point lower than pure water and as such useful tool In reducing snow and ice

31.2. Dropped about 1/2 degree in last hour and i can tell you it makes a difference. Deck is getting really glazed now. If it drops another degree that will be trouble. Wet bulb temp is about 30, so i think it's possible. Just have to see how it goes.

Whats it look like up this way if it gets down to say 32, its about 35 now, or is there no chance we see much of anything?

My WWA says 1-2 with 0.1 ice. Whatever my job just called half staff and I am the half to be off this time so I am happy I got ST out of it at least LOL
