Re: Tropical Storm Isaias
That one just went through Flemington / Clinton and was a doozy of wind, rain and lightning. Strongest one of the year imo...

If this storm is now in South Carolina, which is over 720 miles from NY,is moving at 16 mph, how does it get here by tomorrow? It's a 12 1/2 drive from NY to SC. doing 65 mph. Just wondering...

It’s forward speed will begin accelerating tomorrow as it gets further north. It will be moving two or three times that fast by the time it gets here.

The westerly upper level steering currents get stronger up at these latitudes, especially if it interacts with the jet stream.

I dunno Scott models have it pretty nailed down but we see. Scott does the increase now potentially mean he will be worse up here with the enhancement.

Watch this thing go OTS before it gets here. Lol. Not likely, but it would be typical of tropical systems around here.
